I put my check in the box today. Of course, my mail ran early today. Usually doesn't run until 4:30, but today it was gone at 2:30. Only happens when I have a letter to mail.

From a fellow (me) who couldn’t pour piss out of a boot even if the instructions were written on the bottom???? laughing

No sir, I’m just getting excited about attending my first Triumph National.

Hope to get to shake hands with some folks I feel like I’ve known for years…..but wouldn’t recognize them if they walked by me on the street today at lunch. frown

I’m still on the fence about bringing a bike. Been chasing a couple of pesky oil
leaks and I “think” I have them identified. Fiberglass oil tank’s lower locating pin and seals at the oil union. Got the tank fix done and got the union off last night ( pretty much have to pull the engine)

But……having a bike at the event is pretty low priority right now.

I need to figure out HOW to get around and meet people???????

Having a bb.com central location isn’t going to happen so I’ll do my best to find folks.

Gordon----at the center of the show ground is a flag pole.
If you publicize here on Brit bike that you will be there at a particular time each day (for example midday) then I am sure fellow Brit bikers will make their way there and introduce themselves.
Actually--- here's a little story along the same lines.
Some years ago I had never met Jack Adams from IN but had been in email conversation with him about something.
Then at the Oley show I was walking down one on the paths and there was a guy walking towards me in the opposite direction.
I thought to myself "that guy looks as though he should be Jack Adams" --- so I stopped him and asked him--- and it was Jack!
So if you indicate a place and time and your avatar is accurate then I am sure that people will come up and introduce themselves--- I certainly will!
Looking forward to meeting you!

So TM, you have an uncanny resemblance to Winston?

Hmm if I can't make new jersey I'll be open that weekend. That'd make 3. Any chance of finding a 21 there?

Hugh-- no similarity in looks to Winston.
Maybe a bit like the flag--- striped and flat and flutter in the breeze!

I've decided to drag me keester, me dog, a Trident, and me Rocket 3 on up. Cash will speaketh large.

I have a neighbor interested in buying a bike and has received authorization from his wife. He's not a knowledgeable motorcycle aficionado, but he likes the look of the classic Triumphs. He's just a kid, around 50 or so, I think. He had a 3 cylinder Hinkley Tiger. He wants a good, solid, ready to ride motorcycle, not a project. I have advised him to look for a t140 or tr7 from 1976-1978. So I'll be looking for a bike for him with cash in hand. I told him it's a buyer's market, and I can carry 3 bikes home.

Is this the flag pole Richard (aka Tridentman)????

[Linked Image]

Where are all the kids/adults running back and forth on pit bikes????

[Linked Image]

I have never been a Triumph fan BUT..........I do love the looks/colors and these are absolutely works of art.

Photo's borrowed from the events Facebook page.....I'm hoping that's not a problem?????

Yup-- that is the flag pole.
IME very few pit bikes-- you can take a leisurely stroll up and down the pathways as shown in your photo and stop at the booths left and right.
Pretty relaxed atmosphere IMHO.
Enjoy!

Nice......."sorta" reminds me of the BIBR before the move to the fairgrounds. (but I only attended two of those...missed all the early fun)

The fact that I'm not having to deal with a BIG race track that's trying to suck all the money out of you they can get... is nice too IMO.

AND........even though it's a Triumph National Rally........other brands don't seem to be frowned upon. You gota like that. thumbsup beerchug clap smile

I'm really looking forward to it.
