Maybe "nothing ever changes", except that it has gotten logarithmically worse in the last 3 or 4 presidential cycles (BOTH faces of the entrenched 2-party mob). The country's debt is on a major uphill trend from which I see no way of returning to sanity without going to war with China & Russia, beating them overwhelmingly, and cancelling all debt and trade with them for at least a decade or two.
