I have some '61 Pre Unit T120 cases with 1969 one piece crank fitted.
I've acquired some 10 stud Morgo barrels and a matching 10 stud head which I was happily going to fit to my cases until I happened across the Morgo website which said a 9-stud set was needed for pre unit models.
I've dry fitted the barrels onto the cases and they fit fine but I've not tried it with pistons in.
I can't seem to find any info as to why I couldn't use the set up that I have.
Before I get to the point of putting it all together and then frustratingly find it doesn't work, can anyone shed light on why Morgo say I need a 9 stud kit rather than a 10 stud one? and will the 10 stud kit do the business?

When Morgo say “a 9 stud head has to be used on Pre-Unit engines,” they mean the standard Pre-unit 8 stud head cannot be used with a Morgo cylinder barrel.

I think you should ascertain that the height of your barrel is compatible with the length of the conrods in your engine.

Welcome to the forum, I did something similar - T110 cases, later 650 alternator crank, E3134 cams, T140 head - with a Morgo 10 stud kit on my Triton. It worked out ok but I needed to change and swap about parts to get the correct combination of pushrod tubes and seals. I’d also recommend getting the crank dynamically balanced. 3000 miles so far and no problems, this is good modification with a noticeable performance improvement (when I compare with my 60’s T120).
