We are vacationing in Orlando, Florida, and I booked a half-day fishing trip with a local guide, while the wyfe & kids are doing a second day at Universal Studios theme park. Young man named Austin is our guide, with a nicely outfitted "Skeeter" fishing boat. We had great weather, and a great time, with CONSTANT action 'till our time was up. We fished the "Chain of Lakes" including Lake Butler which was the biggest one we spent the most time at. I say "we", because my son Alex decided the one day he already had at Universal was more than enough, and he'd rather fish with the old man; I'm really glad he made that choice on his own, I like that level of prioritization!

Final Score:

Alex - 14 Largemouth Bass landed, several missed, and 3 "almost" misses of a pesky Spotted Gar. Largest Bass - 3-1/2 lbs.

Dad - 12 Bass, and i FINALLY got that pesky Gar in the boat! Largest Bass - 2-1/2 lbs.

So, the kid out-fished the old man. Great day!

As a youngster I used to enjoy fishing, then I found out about girls.

We were fishing just offshore from a mansion formerly owned by the NBA basketball player Shaquille O'Neal' 10-car garage and full-size indoor basketball court, not to mention it's the size of 3 or 4 "ordinary" mansions, gigger than 2 football fields...



Some poor joker was having a bad boating day like I USUALLY have...

"What do you mean, did I put in the drain plug? YOU were supposed to put it in!"
