working on a 1967 bonneville with the early removable pilot jet.
all fuel ways and airways cleaned out. I fitted new Viton tip float needles new gaskets etc.
I did retain t,he original floats were a bit ,yellow but showed no evidence of gas inside them.
I set float level at 1/16 below the float chamber lip.
as soon as the gas is turned on they flooded.
Are stay up floats the answer?

Check for the gasket fit where the pivot spindle crosses .
I think it's possible for the float arms

to hang up on the gasket .
the gasket may need to be clipped back at the corners as shown in the image

Another thing is the tickler roll pin .
It's adjustable , as a friction fit , and may have adjusted itself by accident
if it is set too low ... the float cant float .
... if it's set to high the tickle does not tickle
