Britbike forum Forums Thread Like Summary - Loud exhaust question

My current stainless exhaust is very, very loud. Primarily for a planned trip to Germany (where they are very strict concerning bike noise), but for more than one reason, I’m looking for a more silent model. I would be very happy with your advice or tips for brands/types. I did search the threads but could not find a clear solution, or I missed it . My bike has a 600 Absaf engine, I did mount a cone type silencer last year for a week riding in Germany which was pretty silent. But not only did I lose a lot of power, the bike suffered from pinging when accelerating under load. I understand that a quiet silencer with no power loss and original looks is a fairytale and compromises are inevitable. Knowing that, I really hope that your combined thousands years of experience will provide a solution. All the best, and thanks in advance, Peter

Andy, I am impressed that you persuaded Armours to make one to your design. I have two of theirs hanging up in my garage, awaiting installation, if I ever get that far.
