Some of us knew it all the time.

There is only one solution to world pollution
Less people on the planet consuming less .
Now neither of these are likely to happen.
Everything else is just swapping one type of pollution for another type of pollution or shifting it some where else .
We bought our way into this situation
we can not buy our way out of it

Hydrogen is the only fuel that could significantly reduce CO2 pollution
But CO2 pollution is only 10% ( if that ) of the problem .
But it is easy to measure, easy to tax so gets focused on because it has few moral dilemas associated with it.

We can cut down all of he trees and make lots of churches & crosses with them in the hope that our god will fix the mess we have made.
It did not work for the Easter Islanders but of course they had the wrong God.
Good thing is we don't have to worry about asteroids or the sun going out we are going to kill ourself with our own pollution well before that.
Hopefully the cockroaches will take better care of the planet than we did .

Studies have shown that the total cost of subsidies, tax breaks, etc to the fossil fuel industry a year total 5.9 trillion (based on year 2020), or 11 million a minute. The subsidies to the farm industry pale to what is given to the fossil fuel industry.

That fuel you pump into your tank cost you more than the price on the pump. Have you got a tax break lately?

So did the politicians but they were benefiting monetarily on top of their base salary of $174,000 a year, so were willing to look the other way. More than likely most, if not all of them on either side don't dabble in classic cars and motorcycles and could give a s**t less.
