Last time I did some wiring I used some cloth Tesa tape but it left a sticky mess when it came to removing it for wiring changes.

I have bought some non adhesive PVC loom tape. My question is how do you tie it off when you have finished wrapping a stretch of wiring? I thought of using a bit of sticky insulation tape but this dropped off whenever I have used it in the past for anything.

Or use self amalgamating tape, its rubber and as long as you stretch it enough it fuses into one rubber ring after 24 hours. It sticks to itself but not to anything else.
