I am thinking there should not be a gasket (fibre washer) under the float needle seat - where it screws into the top of the float bowl. I don't see a gasket in the two or three exploded views I've looked at.

I put it together with a fibre washer. Maybe this has something to do with my "starts but doesn't stay running" problem.
