While looking for something else I ran across these photos from one of the trips to Ben and Peggy's house.... A fantastic time and great memory.

Cherish your friends while you have them. May we all ride together for eternity

Due to jet lag and the stupid hours I work, I always seem to be the one awake first, a lovely memory I have is drinking coffee of a morning with Ben, him being a farmer he wasn't far behind me. We'd sit there wherever there was, spinning yarns and putting the World to rights.... grin

MAN I miss that lad.... cry

I met Ben twice. Both times at Blowing Rock for the TSMR. He led the 'slow' group on his BSA single and while I enjoyed riding in the slow and fast groups, I think I enjoyed riding in the slow group more because the slower pace allowed me to take in the sights and scenery more. I think he was onto something...

I have this photo of Ben and ribbon in my garage. They were handed out at the TSMR after he passed. I look at the photo from time to time and smile. I imagine he was very content and happy to be astride two wheels at the moment that picture was taken.

Wonderful photos Tom……Wade took the pic but BB.com put those people together.

Thank you for sharing

Excellent point, Gordon. For all its woes, I guess the World Wide Web is still good for something then, eh? Lifetime friends off the internet... who could have ever imagined such a mechanism for the basis of friendship? Making friends is absolutely one of the positive outcomes of intent interactions, and I'm well pleased to know many people from several internet sources.

Wow, great pics, these hit pretty hard right now. I spent some time with Ben and Peggy, outside of our bigger get-togethers- thankfully. Either passing through, or over that way looking at a bike (my 88 R100RS came from a guy who lived pretty close to where they live). Getting close to them was a really wonderful treat. Ben was the sweetest guy, just genuinely nice and had a truly gentle spirit; Small in stature but much bigger in persona, Peggy's feisty spirit offset Ben's mellow demeanor quite nicely, I always thought.

Yeah I miss him and the conversations we had. I think of Peggy less often these days, sure hope she's doing well.

I got there once. we were going to the weekly blue grass jam somewhere, Peggy told me I was going to be the youngest person there, and she was RIGHT.

Ben had a good time with the International dinner dances. He was always the best-dressed guy there ....
