The seat on my 1968 Lightening is pretty beat up and considering buying a new one from Classic Bike Shop in the UK.

My question is about the seat currently on my bike
The back screw tabs do not line up with the tapped holes in the seat pan.
Could the seat pan be from another model such as a Thunderbolt or 441?

Has anyone any ideas?

I think I'll tend to some other things that need sorting before I invest in a new seat

The info. on BSA moving the tabs on later bikes is great to know.

I noticed in the pics of some new seats is that they have four holes to match either of the tab locations.

I will move on to replacing the handle bars and acquiring a grab rail.

The tank has three dents I could due without, but good luck to me!

Thanx again for the seat info
