I'm new to the communication thing. I LOVE it. One of those things you don't have to use but nice if you have it. There were three of us riding around early in the week.....we did a 200+ mile loop. richrd and I talked back and forth the whole time.......Marlin won't do the com stuff and it felt like we were leaving him out. Pricey and the battery doesn't last ALL day........but I'm sure that will get better. I can see a day when helmets will come with them already installed???? STILL gota remember you're on hot mike. I need to work on mic placement.....I think that has a lot to do with how clear you come across. But I've got nobody to work that out with......until our next get together.

When Fay and I took off on a month long transcontinental ride together, we bought a pair of Sena 10s and installed them. We used them a couple of times a day, and sometimes they were useful, like sharing comments on the passing scenery, but mostly they were a distraction from the serious business of riding a motorcycle.
We haven't used them since 2018. Mine's still on my helmet, and I suppose that if I had a task like riding lead or sweep, I would charge it up and mesh into the Collective, but otherwise, I have JUST enough brainpower to keep myself safe without any Breaker Breaker One Nine additions to my sensory overload.....!

If you heard me "talking" to other drivers when I'm in the truck, you would be glad to not hear me on the bike! Or hear me "singing".

The shed is still here. The guy that was living in the mobile home moved out several years ago and thats where we are till the dome gets done. He took the norton chopper with him but tied to sell the shed. The guy was pissed when he found out he couldn’t take it.

Or barns/garages/tools Funny to see the photo without the dome

I remember Bill walking into the garage not knowing Kent Shaun was there. Good times!

I don't know why they don't use the Shure throat mic. It was good enough for our tank commanders and fliers in our last real war.

![[Linked Image]](https://www.britbike.com/forums/ubbthreads.php/ubb/download/Number/20299/filename/P1060258.jpg) One of my many "mother hen" moments. If it's getting dark and the Blue Ridge Parkway is fogged in..........and you have a rider that you're "pretty sure" took a wrong turn on the Parkway (can't put signs on the Parkway) ........AND he's on vintage. Mother hen calls the locals and the feds to go look for him. (yes I did that and I'd do it again......when I say fogged in....you don't know what it's like up there until you've been there. We leave no one behind) Yeah that one'll e remebered a long time- what stands out in my mind about that is that Jim rode into the BRI parking lot AFTER you'd called the BRP rescue squad but BEFORE thay deployed. A sure win/win there I do remember that one. There is a lot of responsibility in doing these rides. Again i do like having the communications from bike to bike. It makes it a lot easier for the leader to know what’s going on. I've been looking at Sena Helmet communication for ages.... maybe this year.

My good confuser done broke, and my back up is slower than a pack of hardleys on the mountain. but here's a few.
And as I mentioned once before, I don't know why, but this may have been the most enjoyable week yet. let's do it again. and bring the token young kid again.
(heard at the 2023 tsmr) "doesn't your brake light light work?" "Don't know, I never never use 'em"

Next year I want to take a side trip down to Lake Tahoma for nostalgia. We had a cabin there when I was young, a lot of good memories there. Looks like it's just a ride down the Parkway to NC80.

Sure glad I could be a part of it and share the fun. If next time is nearly as good, it’ll be great.
