Hi I'm new to the group. I hope this is the place to post my problem. I bought a 66 A65 Lighting basket case and want to go through the motor before I start putting it together. I bought Whitworth sockets and end wrenchs. My problem the center head bolt the sockets are to thick to get on the bolt is there a special tool for this. any advice is greatly appreciated.

The 3/8" drive KoKen sockets stocked by at least a couple of the site sponsors are just the shot.

Thanks for the advice, I'll cut the socket I have down for now and invest In a better socket set for the rest of the build.

For most things 3/8” drive sockets will be more than adequate for most jobs and are usually slim enough to do the tight fiddly areas.

Just wait till you do the 4 outer nuts and want to torque them down. It’s achievable but a pain in the bum.

I use a Motion Pro adapter and a combination spanner with the torque wrench these days.
It's a lot easier than trying to get hold of the right size 1/2" drive clearance spanner.
