1974 Norton Commando 850 Roadster $9500 Sold


1151 break-in miles on a complete crankup rebuild using the best of everything
Matching numbers frame, engine and gearbox

Engine
Rebuilt cylinder head by Baxter Cycle with new valves, guides and springs, bored +20 with new pistons and Hastings rings, new rod insert bearings, AMR wet sump mod (doesn’t wet sump), cam chain, head bolt and crank hardware, ss rocker feed line, ss exhaust nuts, new gaskets and seals, AMAL Premier carbs, K&N air filter

Frame and Miscellaneous
New front and rear vernier isolastic kits, new swing arm spindle and bushings, center stand, side stand and springs, fork tubes, Progressive fork springs, new front and rear rims and spokes with new tires and tubes, rear Shocks, sealed wheel bearings, drive chain, CNW oil tank modification, alloy instrument cups with rebuilt speedo(zeroed) and tach. new front fender, grab rail and chain guard, new headlight shell and lens, new seat, new header pipes and mufflers(slight scratch on rh muffler from kick starter), all new cables and rubber parts. Frame stripped and painted with enamel.

Tins
Original Norton metal tank, new metal side covers, base coat/clear coat black, hand pin striping on tank, decal pin striping on side covers, decal logos per factory.

Gear box and Primary
New superblend roller layshaft bearing, new high gear bearing, gaskets and seals, clutch rod seal kit, Barnett clutch discs, slight leak from primary felt seal.

Brakes
Drilled front disc, rebuilt caliper, new 13mm master cylinder, new pads, ss brake line, new rear brake pedal

Electrical
New front and rear wiring harnesses, ignition switch, turn signals, led headlight and tail-light bulbs, warning lights, Trispark ignition, Mosphet rectifier/zener eliminator

One kick starter, pulls strong, idles well. Youtube video of cold start and ride

This is my last Brit bike, I have a modern z900rs. Turned 70, not as agile as I used to be.
