Apologies from me, Triumph badge screws are indeed 2BA, BSA could be whatever, I was thrown by this being a Triumph forum, silly me.

tank just arrived today March 22 only took 2 1/2 weeks from time of order to my door in NC.....i opened the box and took it out will post photos tomorrow... initial impressions...tank was very very well packaged encased in layers of styrofoam and bubble wrap like mummy...box was swaddled in shipping tape. paint is very good i would say 8 on scale of 10 it is lined with grey liner no rust or debris inside tunnel width is identical to stock curvature of top is a tiny bit different so will have to tweak trim strips hole in top of tank where trim strip/rubber logo plug goes will need some paint trimmed out supplied cap looks nice
the issues so far.........threads for badge holes are useless plugged with paint and not cut very well at all....same with threads on bottom where front brace goes .the petcock holes are not quite as bad but i had to take similar size bolt and work in and out with lube to clean the threads need advice on the badge and brace hole situation.....overall i am pleased the dealer Royal Choppers has excellent customer service/shipping/feedback $200 for a nice tank free shipping halfway around the planet is not to be sneezed at...IMHO

Just a suggestion but……pressure test the tank BEFORE adding fuel.

Doesn’t take much pressure or time.

I had to chase my badge holes…..front brace too. But they cleaned up okay and every thing is still where I last put it.

$200…….

No sir…..but ours could be completely different.

I was having a fiberglass tank copied…..the glass tank didn’t have a front strap…..I had them add that. Mine was also a 1967 so it used the small plastic badge (single screw) and that badge uses a different ( larger diameter) screw than your two hole metal badge.

I do know that I have three metal tanks that have front straps and two of those are stock BSA……they all three use the same bolt so a quick look in the parts book could tell you what you could try first.

I “think” I asked the guy I got it from what they were????

Okay I’m thread stealing and if you want to rag me about it……come to this years TSMR and have at it…….

IF they are indeed reading this thread.

PLEASE offer the large metal 2 hole badges in the two options normally seen. NOBODY is offering them…..the supply of reproductions ran out years ago.

I’ll be happy to supply photos of the two options I’m talking about……if you’re a 1968 + BSA fan you already know the ones I’m talking about.

You offer a “ triples” colored badge……you’ll sell 10x more of these.

I’ll go ahead and take two sets of each…

I can be reached on this thread or contact me @ DAD1150 at AOL.Com and I’ll be MORE than happy to discuss.

Sorry Alan……I can’t help myself sometimes.

My T150 tank is supposed to use 2BA screws, but I re-tapped (had to anyway - really fouled threads) to 10-32 and bought 10-32 screws at my local ACE hardware. just a tad undersized, but I red Locktite'd them and they should hold fine. I did grind down the heads a bit so they looked better. BTW, I used socket-head screws.

A 5 mm screw is only slightly larger than a 2BA, which is around 4,7-4,8 mm, and the pitch is the same. Tapping the hole to 5 mm is very easy and usually does the trick.

That looks bloody beautiful RAF940! Royal Choppers is the name to remember by the look of it.

I got a tank from them for a Matchless

Paint was off from the location of the tank badges and the screw holes were off

If you look at the back of the tank once its mounted on the frame, it was tilted

Looks good tho

I plan on purchasing another tank from them and doing a review
