Sometimes I punch in "YOUTUBE to the computer and go back to the '50's through the 1990s's fot eh music and artists I like best.
Most are Americans, such as Mary Wells, Sam & Dave, Wilson Picket, Clarence Carter, Ronnie Specter (The Ronettes), Smoky Robinson, etc.
I was fortunate to see Jerry Lee Lewis and Bo Diddley on stage together LIVE in 1990,
and had the chance (but foolish not to take it) to see Eric Clapton and Mark Nofler together, live at Poplar Creek in 1987 or '88.
I like some of the British stars, too, but my number-one favorite is Joe Cocker.
He took two mediocre songs by other artists and made him his own,
Yes, he now OWNS them, and I think there will never be better versions of those:
"The Letter," and "A Little Help From My Friends."
