Offering my 1976 Bonneville for sale. Had not run in 20 years, but recently reawakened from its slumber. New Mikuni carbs, new Trispark ignition. Superb paint on tank and side covers. The side cover paint does match the gas tank, the lighting was just a little funky when I took the picture. Side covers were fabricated by previous owner. If I keep the bike I'll retrofit pre-oil in frame black side covers. Starts runs and rides. I have not yet gone through the brakes, and the controls need to be taken apart and cleaned. Of particular note is the fact that there is not a rounded nor buggered up nut or bolt to be seen. It is something of a reluctant sale, but my goal this year was to downsize a bit. $5600. Additional photos available and I can be contacted at [email protected]. Thanks for looking.

Hello again - Just an FYI, the bike is going on Facebook Marketplace today at $4k, and to York swap meet if unsold. Thanks.

Still available, final drop on price, now $3700. There's a small chance I might consider a trade for a nice red 1968 TR25W. I'd really prefer to free up the space but would make an exception for the 250 - first bike I ever rode! Cheers.

OK, I lied. Dropping price again to $3600 obo. It seems like a crazy marketplace post covid. I've been selling off much of my collection and prices and demand seem to have dropped precipitously. I wish I was a buyer instead of a seller at this point! Thanks for looking and cheers to all.

I have been feeling that way for over a year...

True GP!
I would happily buy this bike if I was able to get stronger decent offers for what I have

I was hoping Spring might help, but nothing yet. Best to GrandPaul and Hacksaw.

The British bike market must really have collapsed over there. The original price seemed quite reasonable to me.

Last September I put my same year T140 on a no reserve ebay auction. It went for $2800.

It's collapsed except when I want to buy something I'm really interested in. The prices being asked for unit singles these days are just stupid, although I don't know if they're selling at those prices.

Mountain, you'll have to either auction the Triumph or hold onto it until late model Meriden Triumphs that need a little fettling are back in favor. Like Dr Z said, $2500 -$3000 is more the mark, as several others have found.

I've tried lately to help a couple of sellers get rid of their unit singles.........they were asking for "suggested" prices.

When I tell them my opinion they act like I'm trying to low ball them so I can get the bikes. I'm just trying to relay what I'm seeing now a days.

YES IMO.......it's a buyer's market. I have a feeling the market is VERY lopsided right now and me personally....I don't see it getting better for the sellers anytime soon.

20 years from now most of us (britbike owners) will be gone........who the heck are you going to sell this stuff to then?

My situation is just like GP's and Hack's .........I NEED to thin....not collect more.

Good luck with your sale.

Since I'm done building the barndo and still have money left over, there will be no more thinning the flock 'till GOING prices are favorable (if ever, after all).

Maybe what I've got is what will be left to my younger two, and 4 grandsons...

GrandPaul, I envy you your kids and grandkids to pass things to eventually. No such luck here.

So, bike was posted here and on Facebook for six months and I finally put it on local CL two weeks ago. Just for kicks I wheeled it up near the road with a sign on it. Sold within 60 minutes. And I live on a country road. Go figure. Sold for $3,300 for reference. Just about a break even for me. I think. Whatever. smile

I appreciate all the support and comments. Now if I can get some Italian bikes rehomed....

Cheers,
Joel

Hacksaw, it's an epidemic!! While I'm selling off cool German and English bikes, a friend gifted me a 1974 CB 550-four. Clean and original - he had dropped it at an intersection six years ago and not ridden since. Other than tweaked headlight, it's gorgeous. What kind of friend would I be to refuse it a home???
