I went back to see when Windy first started this thread. May of last year. Our kev was the only member to give that first post a ā€œ likeā€. I was excited to find out he was planning on coming to the event…….hate that it’s not going to happen.

We have lost a lot of friends over the years.

I tried a memorial of sorts at our TWOS camp for the folks we’ve lost…..I’d like to do something different this year. I don’t want to come off as a buzz killer…..but I don’t want to forget ANY of them either. So be forewarned…….we’re going to do something for our missing friends…..weather permitting Saturday evening after dinner…..have your cameras ready.

Yes sir. frown

I have lots of photos of those folks we lost.......I'd just rather keep the next couple of months upbeat.

Windy and I have a plan for something (weather permitting) Saturday evening to help remember the 12 friends we've lost over the years.

We're going to need some volunteers to help out but that's never been a problem in the past.

Less than 60 days left.......PLEASE consider joining us in Shady Valley TN......you're ALL welcome.

44???? Days to go…….time to make up your mind and start making plans.

Going to be a good one this year……

The mountains are starting to wake up after their long winter sleep…..everything will be in bloom come May.

Hope to see some new faces and maybe a few of you that haven’t attended in awhile.

See ya soon??????

These are for Tom and Shaun. I've never actually stayed at this motel but they have and since it's on my route up North I like to stop by and take a photo every now and then. Tom and Shaun stayed there one year on their way to the TSMR.

Bob's beautiful Norton........which runs better than it looks.....and it looks fantastic! Bob and Mike have been regular attendees.......for years. It wouldn't be the same without them.

These are just some old memories........things have changed a bit but the people haven't .......thank goodness.

The ride used to start from here.......

[Linked Image]

We would have a group dinner on Friday night

[Linked Image]

Saturday after the ride we'd get a BIG take out order from this place......and feed as many a 40 people. There was that one year it was pouring rain.....I got the food loaded up and then LOCKED myself out of the van!!!!! Called the local police and since there was lightening with that storm........the officer wouldn't get out and try to unlock the van for me (they have the tools)............that was until I picked up a BIG rock and told him....."There's 40 hungry people waiting for this food over at the motel......I'm getting in that van". Bless him......he got out and unlocked it for me. I was in a bit of a tizzy and he figured I was serious.....and I was.

[Linked Image]

Mr Ben.........I could go on and on about him.......we miss him dearly.

[Linked Image]

When we say EVERY one and ANY bike is welcome........we mean it. I "think" this was richrds ride one year????

[Linked Image]

It's just around the corner.......we HOPE you are making plans to attend......you are ALL welcome.

See ya in May

Over the years our friend Dennis made us......stickers, banners, direction signs. He lead a group ride during our 10th anniversary get together and had an entire restaurant reserved just for us to have lunch. That's the year we visited (as a group) Henry's bike shop in TN.

[Linked Image][Linked Image]

Been a good long run.....and bless Windy for keeping it alive.

Until May.........CHOWDA!!!!

Well with me living in the aria and it over 15 years running i did not want to see it die off. Also took it as an honor that you asked me about keep it going. Its also a shame about the BIR that it was sold and the new owners priced us out but time marches on and i did adapt the route.

I knew it was rough in there......but never knew just how bad it was until I spent a day in a chase vehicle. Saps the life right out of you.

Kinda sucks when the chase truck with bad brakes can run the course faster than I ride.

Maybe if his brakes worked, he wouldn't be running so fast? At any rate, don't feel bad ... I'll be behind you trying to keep up...

It does suck the life out of you! But better than sitting on the side of the road for hours on end. Ask ED!

And I stopped and asked Ed if I could help but he said no……the chase truck would along shortly……….I didn’t see him again until WAY past dark!!!! (Moto Giro USA)

Actually one of my favorite ā€œchase vanā€ stories is when you had to join us and my ā€œsafety crewā€ came up to me at the last gas stop and saidā€¦ā€That guy really knows his [***] about punk bandsā€ They were very impressed and I had no clue you were into that.

My son was with me at every event….later on we added flags and radios to help control traffic for group starts and break downs……they came in handy on several occasions.
