Do any of you know which horn was fitted to the 1937 J & G?
It wasn't a Lucas and I suspect it was a Clearhooters but which model?
I would be most grateful if you can help.

Good question !

Pretty sure you are right.
It looks like a Clearhooters ?
And, not surprisingly, there is nothing listed in the Lucas bible.

The brochure (throughout) only refers to 'electric horn'.
Doesn't go into any detail, and doesn't give a better view.

I've got a project one of these - note the J2 model has tubular girders - so I guess I need to find out ?
Or just use a supercheap $5 one, and ignore the pundits ....
It didn't come with anything in that dept ...

P.S. there was a terribly original looking 1936 ? Model G that someone has tried to sell on fleabay a few times - in Dubbo ?
Will hunt down the pics I saved, and see what it shows ...

Inc some discussion that it may have had a Millers badge on the back of it ...

Thanks Rohan.
I have a derelict HF320 in my collection of horns. Looking at the rear view of the horn pictured, it could well be a 320.
This is not my project but I have so far restored the E3HB generator and am in the process of restoring the MCR1 regulator but in 1937 I would expect the bike to have an MCR reg, very rare these days.
I have made to work a Clearhooters HF150 as a temporary fitment for the J.

Have a look at: https://www.stilltimecollection.co.uk. Search Royal Enfield and scroll through photos - a number of them show the vertical slatted grille model
of Clearhooters horn, which could also be badged as Miller, Clayrite, Halfords etc.

Thanks Keith - thats a fabulous archive of pics there.

"vertical slatted grille model"
Mmm, indeed.

So what model of Clear Hooters is that, do we know.

Details on this maker seem a little fuzzy.
I recall that Taff the Horn had something, but sadly he has had some health issues,
and his website has been taken over/away ?

Haven't figured out what model that is, at all.
Miller badge ?
Images seem to be entirely lacking ?

Those clever chappies in India have something not entirely dissimilar.
If you don't mind the odd badge in the middle.
For very low bucks ...

The vertical slatted horn that I looked at is on an earlier bike as it has the E3E generator which was last used in 1936.
I like Rohan's idea of the 1937 model having an HF 320 as the rear view shown seems to be just that horn.
Some of the others appear to have a Lucas HF 1140 horn.
