This chap gets into the nooos every now and then.

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2023-01-26/vintage-motorcycle-collection-Vincent-ian-boyd/101891250

And detailed every so often as well.
Obviously a lot of $$$ in fishing.
And probably not much carbon in the exhaust pipes ...

He says he wants to keep his collection in the family, but I'll bet anything you like that when he's gone, the family will convert that collection into millions in cash before you can say Jack Robinson.

It's just stuff, and it belongs to him, but as a rider, I don't have to be pleased and proud about him sitting on top of a load of Vincents just so he'll have them to not ride, like Smaug sleeping on top of a pile of gold that he can't do anything with except say "I've got it and you don't" ....

i agree. but thats the nature of collecting. i have enough motorcycles for each of my kids to have one, if theyre interested.

thats already more than i can keep running.

but theyre just things, in the end. eventually there will be a fire, or an earthquake, or a bomb, and each of those vincents will go to the scrapyard. maybe not while he owns them, but sooner or later.

Amen to that !
I commented to someone that just keeping all those tyres pumped up would nearly be a full time job !
And you'd need a small power station just to keep all the trickle chargers trickling ...

Pretty sure I just read and article about him in one of the latest classic bike mags. Leaving trickle chargers plugged in and unattended worry me...
