The frame is not cut. The front wheel is an A65, the rear wheel Triumph 650...
Engine is .040 with IMD pistons, 357 cam, new valves and springs. Boyer Micro power digital ignition. 12 volt generator conversion....properly tuned Mikuni 34 mm flatslide carb...Engine idles nice, has a wide range of power with sharp throttle response.
Four spring clutch, new plates..No slip no grab, excellent feel...
All sprockets and chains were replaced
Accurate electronic tach and mechanical oil pressue gauge.
This finish on this bike other than chrome is old and there are plently scratches but nothing butchered or damaged...It seeps a drop or two of oil after a long run..Blows no oil smoke or oil from the engine breather....
This bike runs well at 4500 rpm in high gear, about 75 mph and has a very secure feel on the backroads...
You want something different, well here it is
The bike has transferable Vermont registration in my name for the last three years...It is in running condition....
$6000

Wow ... that's a good-sounding, good-running, well-built bike. I just sold an A10, though, so I'm out of the running.

But someone is going to get a fun, well-sorted runabout!

This bike was assembled with care on both chassis and engine.Attention was paid to wheel and engine alignment, nothing forced into place. The engine has R&R connectiing rods, IMD pistons use a high quality metric ring package.Actual static compression is 8.1 and it does not ping on 90 octane non ethanol fuel.. Head has standard size OEM cast iron guides. Valve work was done on a Newen single axis head machine.Rod and Kibblewhite crank bushings sized for .0015 clearance. The rotatating assembly was balanced..it is very smooth for a 360 twin at 4000 plus rpm...and just fine around town..Fully warmed up it shows about 20 psi oil pressue at 900 rpm and 50 at 3500 with 20-50 oil...Has a full flow oil filter on the return line..It will wet sump about 1/2 quart sitting idle for a few months...It does have an oil shut off valve for long term storage. The tag on the gas cap says to turn on oil supply.Been sitting in my living room for three moths with two dime sized oil drops in the drip pan
I jet a bit leaner than most...So some choke is needed during warm up...Once warmed up it idles steady at 900 rpm and accelerates with no flat spots or hesitation. Siamese pipe with Burgess pattern silencer is sporty but not obnoxious..
Led headlight, hi and low beam, fairly loud horn...the 12 volt conversion included new field winding. and armature with an electronic regulator from Rex In the UK. It maintains 14.1 volts at normal speeds with the lights on.
The Boyer Micro digital pick is located in a unit replacing the magneto...the Boyer ecu is under the seat with ffuses and the battery. The engine starts with one firm kick and the timing is accurate....Strobe timing mark are scribed inside the primary cover and can be seen by simply removing the large oil filler plug.
Primary and secondary chains are DID or RK..Overall gearing is 4.5, 3500 rpm at a true 60 mph..New wheel and steering bearing
A rear speedo drive can be fitted. The gearbox drive is in place sealed with a plug.
Riding fast on the often rough rural roads here the CBR forks give a firm but very well dampened ride...Ride it, you will be impressed. The rear Konis have 70/110 springs that suit an average rider without being to stiff.....
The brakes.....Well the rear has new Emgo shoes and does the job...The front...Hmmm..Has NOS linings, works very smoothly but the braking power isn't the best but improves as the brake heats up....
Emgo Honda type control levers have a nice feel, all new cables, the mirrors don't vibrate at higher speeds..brake light wired to both right lever and foot brake.
Gearbox has the up for first pattern,,Shifts well, standard ratio...
This machine is not for everyone, some of it is minimalist with home made parts,. Some may be a bit hand forged so to speak.....It can cruise at 80 mph if you need to for an hour...it can troll around town and hit the taverns...

I have ridden this bike. I was very impressed with how smooth it is. The vibration is pretty much the same from low to high revs. I had my Triumph crank dynamically balanced after seeing how smooth this engine is. The bike handles beautifully with with the custom front end and Konis on the back. First rate build.

Some people don't trust or like the Vermont transferrable registrations due to an occasional issue from lack of knowledgable DMV personal. This is a legal document in my name and current NY address... If necessary, If asked, I can transfer it and get NY paperwork...But NY also only issues transferrable registrations, not titles, on vehicles older than 1972..I have never has a problem selling a vehicle with a NY transferrable registration to Florida, California, Mississippi and even overseas to Holland....
I guarantee it will not be a problem for a buyer...

hey

i have ridden stuff that tony has tuned, and have bought stuff from him too.

tony will not blow his own horn, but the stuff he builds is excellent, and his tuning is better than factory.

The asking price has a bit of space for haggling...but not much,lol.....if you look close the original tire pump brackets are still on the frame......
The Honda CBR fork yokes have a bit less offset than the BSA part.In theory this should slow steering response. In reality the rigid 43 mm front responds better with a very connected feel at higher speeds...

some details... oil cooler rated hoses, oil feed ball valve, oil filter, , battery area, head light brackets and brake backing plate mount....Head tail light and gauges are rubber cushioned.....Obviously I am no slave to high buck paint jobs, lol....I like machines showing signs of use...the bike does clean up ok...

Tony had some choke parts left over from a build several years ago and offered to give them away.
I was the lucky recipient.
Tony is a straight shooter and IMHO is certainly one of the "good guys"
If you are at all interested in Tonys bike then you should feel free to buy without any hesitation-- I am sure that you would not be disappointed.

Richard, selling modified old British bike can be difficult.. it's not a hardtail bobber or a slick Triton....It's an American hot rod, srtripped of all parts not necessary for performance and increasing the performance of what remains..It's reflects my style..
The handling and ride must be experienced to appreciate it. The engine makes good power at low speeds but builds nicely from about 3200 to 5500 rpm...Engine vibration is well controlled and the engine doesn't feel stressed at high speeds..
This bike is made for a fast ride on back roads for an hour or so.But for sure you can ride longer..In town it's tractable with the carb and Boyer Micro ignition...
The only bad is what I consider a weak front brake. I believe it was Paul who said it suck, lol...New NOS linings, the shoes make full contact, It's smooth without pulsing or chatter. It's better when warmed up...Maybe I'm bias from having bikes with 320mm front discs....
I don't have to sell it.My wife likes it on display in the living room..But...there are a few who would enjoy it , that's what I want.....

Great news, Tony.
That way when Spring comes around and the sun is shining you could well be tempted to take the bike out for a ride along the country roads.
IMHO you have made the right decision.
