Swapped b44 inner timing cover for one that was in with some parts. After pulling the main shaft to dress the bushing from my binding issue. Noticed a hairline crack in the vicinity of the main shaft bearing, possibly just an imperfection in the casting but the laws of probability made me swap it. Re bushed re- bearinged all fit for smooth operation.
Before final reassembly was cleaning it up
I noticed that it didn't have the small "weep" hole on the transmission side. I scoured RR to find if it has any effect to no avail. The tiny hole on the lower engine side is there but my old inner also has an upper one in the transmission section. Does this effect anything? I could drill it but is there any reason to?
