I do not remember having problems with RainX on my visor. Take it off and use a little around the pivot area to check if you are worried.

When riding in the rain, I found that speed would help to keep the visor clear. 70mph would do the trick. Sounds easy but not practical except on the freeway. I've never had to, but have decided that " but I need to go 70 mph to see where I'm going.... officer " wouldn't work while the ticket was being issued so tend to avoid riding in the rain in my old age...... and we do live on the " wet coast " ........Happy New Year to All!

Cheers, Wilf

I use the head turning trick as well. It only takes a split second.

I have a pair of gloves with a rubber blade on the left hand index finger. It works like a wiper blade. Useful for bug splatter.

I've sprayed Pledge furniture polish on large safety glasses. Polished with a soft cloth. Kept them on the bike for rain when sunglasses wouldn't work. It works well.

Fog always occurs . Vision will be poorly if the rain is big. Wax or other stuff work at a certain degree and should be applied again every time after a rain. Also, if you applied it but say long time ago and you actually use the helmet, you should apply the wax or other again if not it would be not so effective.
Still the fog will appears.
The comment about speed; actually do not work at all. I tried it riding at 130km/h not helped with the fog and not enhanced anything in comparison with riding at 100km/h under heavy rain.
Big trucks sprays do not help too.
I ride under the rain a lot due to bikes are my transportation.

From my Freight Dawg Days..Long Gone.

"Turtle Wax Leaves a Hard Brilliant Shine..."

Turtle Wax on the plastic windshields ment the difference between finshing the approach to a landing in heavy rain or going to an alternate. I havent tried it on my Shoie yet. I need to go to Autozone so perhaps I will get some. I've got pinlock double glass which helps a bit with fogging. I try it and report back.

I thought Rain-X was a gimmick till I tried some about 20 years ago
rain-x works great ... lasts about a month between applications
test on plactic first , just to make sure . ( but I've never had a problem )
rain-x makes riding in the rain almost fun , as little water droplets bead-up and roll away

Rain-X works wonders on glass. However, I've found that it makes things worse in misty rain.
A friend recommended furniture polish for plastic shields. I tried it on my full-face, and it does work. At least in the light rain I've experienced.
The last time I had to ride in heavy rain I only had an open-face helmet and goggles. 50mph on the interstate, and blinded every time a truck passed me.
I have a car now, and there's no place I really have to go that badly.

don't use rainx on plastic. But I do and have never had a problem.

paste wax also works, also Plexus.

it's more about having a clean shield than the coating, and going fast enough for the wind to blow the water off.

Put the Turtle Wax Canuba paste on the shoie. Beeds up pretty well under the faucit. Have yet to get caught in the rain. I'd stay away from the fine polish stuff. In the sun you might see swirels.
