Same here. Both retired last December, moved here for pretty much same reasons permanently in June. Swapped Fl occasional winter riding climate for more sensible summer humidity here. Lots of other reasons too of course.

I was born and raised in Florida but haven’t lived there for over 40 years.

Tallahassee used to feel like a small town. You rode around on a Friday night and would see lots of folks you know. It’s so big/crowded now it’s just not the same. It ( and Florida) will always be home but it doesn’t take long when I visit to understand why I choose to live somewhere else.

I’m not sure how to feel about the upcoming 25th anniversary of the TSMR. I was pretty excited about. Kev’s news is hard to take. I’ve never met the man face to face but still feel like I know him.

The usual suspects will be there and you/I couldn’t ask for a better group to be around.

I plan on making the week of it.

We’ll start talking about it again after the holidays. Hopefully we can talk some new folks into showing up????

We relocated to shady valley last year. I spent my life in orlando and witnessed a huge amount of change. It is not what i grew up in and did not like what it became. Il take the slower pace here and the tennessee time jokes

Everyone knows that anything South of Ocala is North Cuba and anything North of Thomasville…….is “The Frozen North”

PS……okay the Carter Brothers Garage was actually located in North Cuba
( barely) but they made up for it by being amazing folks.

We came over to live the American dream and Florida was great in enabling us to find and experience it for fourteen years. As some of you have alluded, the dream slowly turned into something of a nightmare. Over dramatic perhaps but maybe with advancing years, increasing madness on the roads, ever increasing construction and not least, the brutal humidity and hurricane threats, combined with escalating house values, not forgetting retirement of course, all seemed to be pointing us towards needing a more laid back lifestyle amongst friendly people and surroundings that are just food for the soul.
We found it here, love it, and would love to meet up with some like minded people.
Steve

During our times in US it seems we have tramped around places where the living is easy, parts of Philadelphia excepted.

Spent my first 24 years in Philadelphia. Left and have never looked back.

And the rest of us aren't getting older? sick I wish I could still get around like No Name Man, and he's probably got 8 or 10 years on me.

And is a Great-great-grandfather to boot. whistle

Ride On!

Anyone at any age looks ragged with a macro lens shoved up in their face. Hell, make up a stack of photos of Richrd for the past 20 years, flip through them like a deck of cards, and it looks like the dude in "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade" after he drank from the wrong Grail ...... laughing
