Looking for an RR or RRT (not RRT2) gearbox, complete or gear cluster or any gear. Can you help?
Thanks.

The RR and RRT boxes, to me, have more livable ratios than the RRT2 for road use. Good choice for sure but also consider the DAY ratios which, in my mind, are a bit better, of course dependent on use. Over five years ago I sought out to build up an RR or DAY box (being unable to find a complete cluster), it took all 5 years but I finally amassed all the gears to build a DAY box. For that box the hardest gear to find is the 67-3226 F gear. Should be easier to find all the RR gears you need if you cannot find a complete cluster or box, although may take time. There have been some RR gears on eBay in the past few months.
There was a manufacturer in England that had BSA clusters/gears but I believe they stopped production and last time I contacted only had a few gears left. I will look up that contact for you.

Happy hunting!

Dave

Auto-Cycle Engineering had some gears, although a couple of years ago, but may be worth a try. I bought 67-3361 and 42-3026 from them, 75 pounds each. Both those gears work for RR, RRT and DAY clusters.
Also try Mike's Classic Spares, he may have a few gears available. Quick search shows he has a 67-3221 and 42-3022 at the very least.

Cheers,
Dave

Thanks all for the replies. I already have some gears but I'm still looking for:
67-3216 Layshaft 1st 25T
67-3187 Mainshaft 2nd 24T
67-3361 Mainshaft 3rd 22T
67-3184 Mainshaft 4th 25T

I know a DAY box would be better but it seems the bits are even harder to find than RR ones.
I bought the gears I have from AutoCycle and Mike's in Aus. They don't have the missing gears available at the moment.
I've read in an old thread here that a company called R&N engineering UK used to cut batches of RRT gears I've tried to contact them two times but no reply so far.
@rocketgoldie Any link?
@charlie key Thanks anyway!
@Dave-Northof60 I know it could be a long journey but I'm stubborn and time is still on my side as I'm still south of 60. Not for long though.

Could be a long journey, but with perseverance I think you will be successful. My search took 5 years but the last three were for the very elusive 67-3226, which, talking to those that know more about BSA gearboxes than I ever will, is likely the hardest to find of them all. I will keep a look out and also use some of my less know contacts.
The Gold Star forum members helped me to find a few key gears, many thanks to them!

PM sent regarding R&N.

'North of 60' actually refers to my latitude, although age wise it is also appropriate.

Happy hunting!

Done! I've bought a pair of gears from Mike's, other gears are out of stock.
I was thinking of a link to Ebay's RRT box you did mention. I'm unable to find it.
Thanks.

Not sure if this will take you there: https://www.ebay.ca/itm/144859392719

Title is "BSA Gold Star Motorcycle Parts" It is a classified ad and not an auction. Has a few RRT2 gearboxes and looks like some look-alikes, but maybe has others?

Oh yes, I saw this one, last week I did send an email asking if he has any RR or RRT parts but no reply so far. I take this as a NO.

Hi All,

I managed to find seven of the eight gears I need.

I'm still looking for C gear which is mainshaft 2nd gear (22T) part number 67-3361.

For sure there is one lying somewhere doing nothing!

Thanks.
