Looking for a rear fender for a 67 TR6C in stainless. Believe the part # is 82-6967. My bike came with rolled edge fender, although I believe there is some debate about this topic. Photo below for how the fender looked on the bike when I bought it. Unfortunately it’s cracked, dented and was covered in reflective tape. I found a nice NOS replacement but the drilled holes do not match up. Thanks!

Hello,
I'm pretty sure the 82-6967 part number applied to the razor edge stainless '63-'66. I've only ever seen '67 models, even pretty early ones, with the rolled edge, PN 82-8144. You're right, many argue that though. You probably already know of Speedwell Mudguards - in case not, here's a link to the 8144 fender: http://www.speedwellmudguards.com/product/t120-rear-stainless-rolled-edge-68-70-undrilled/
Thanks, Tony

Thanks Tony, the 67 parts manual lists the TR6C fender as 6967 and makes no mention of 8144, hence the confusion given mine has the rolled edge. Appreciate the link.

What is the consensus on the front fender vis-a-vis rolled edges?

Long ago John Healy posted here, either a number or a date in very early 67 model year when the transition supposedly took place.

Whether it was that abrupt...?

Gaylin’s book mentions the change to the model year specifics but doesn’t say when the shift occurred. Since my bike had a rolled rear on it, that’s what I’d like to replace it with. The original owner never changed the fender so I take it that that’s how it was delivered. It was a West Coast bike fwiw

I knew a guy who had a 66 TR6C that he bought new from the dealership. It had rolled lip alloy fenders that he confirmed were original to the bike. I'm sure he'd feel the same way... that is how the bike was delivered, what do I believe, written word or my own eyes? I'd agree with him, "as purchased new" to me would be more original than "per the book".

Not saying this is the case with your bike, but these are bolt-on items, and we're all aware of "dealer modification" as needed...

Hope you can find a good one!

The 1968 parts book shows the move to rolled edge, 82-8144, which is what '67 T120R's, TT's and TR6C's came over with - at least most of them. On the Speedwell website, 82-8144, SKU: SPE0131, is your fender with the rolled edge, and if you can't find an original, they're as close a match to OE as I've ever seen.

Thanks, Tony

I would think about fixing yours. They are only original once.

Here’s the condition of the fender. The crack is along the rolled bead edge, along with various denta.

I just looked, and the Bonneville Shop has both, the 82-6967 and the 82-8144 if that helps you out any.

Thanks Kevin, looks like they’re on sale too. I’m going to pick up a new 82-8144 and have a friend try to fix my original fender. Best case we get it looking good and I can use the replacement on another project.

Well, after receiving and mounting up the Speedwell reproduction, I’ll say that I’m not really impressed with the product. While clearly made well, the fit and finish of the fender pales in comparison to the factory. SO, the hunt is back on for a NOS fender or a well maintained used fender.

I'm sorry to hear that, Vince.

It would be great if someone would make accurate fenders and TT pipes and starts that were not overstuffed.

Likewise Jon. This taillight was completely flush on the original fender, not so much with the repro. As you can see, there’s nowhere left for the light to go and I can’t really bend it along the centerline to add contour (and yes, I did scratch the hell out of it 😝)

I thought the Speedwell fender was the solution!
