It's a dang shame no one knew about those things when they settled in that island paradise.
The first dudes there, they built grass huts and kept their outriggers pulled up on the beach for a quick getaway.....

( still drifting northwest at about 3 and 1/2" per year ) The process has been happening for millions of years . ( there is a similar hotspot underneath what is now the Yellowstone area ) The big island of "Hawaii" is the newest and most active in the Hawaiian chain , at about half a million years old While Kauai is older , at just over 5 million years old But speaking of climate change , The National Observatory atop Hawaii's tallest volcano is where evidence for climate change was first gathered .
