Most "working man's" caffs in central London have now gone, priced out of the location. Chez Moniques was my favourite for a couple of years, opposite the Polish bar off Kingsway.
I've had some great full Englishes in my time. I've never found a way to make a proper one here ... you can't get the right kind of bacon, sausages, or black puddings.
I love seeing places like this Pellici's.

Looks wonderful. I do like a good FEB. I love black pudding, but you just can't get it here (California).
That said, the Full American Breakfast (FAB) is also a thing of beauty. Clearly related, but also distinctly different. The Hungry Trucker...the Full Griddle...and then there's waffles and maple syrup. I never made it into French Toast, maybe I should experiment more in 2023.
full american depends on where you are eatin.' here in the south a big one would include.........cathead buttermilk biscuits, sawmill or redeye gravy, some aigs fried in bacon grease, bacon or country ham or livermush or sausage grits lots o butter and lots o boiled coffee maybe with some chickory root in the coffee now that's some good eatin' til you die from clogged arteries like most of my ancestors did.. can you spell cholesterol???
Not much personally on livermush but gimme some country ham -n- biscuits. Had black pudding in several places and was never too keen on it but the best to my taste was some home made stuff we got in a butcher shop in Cornwall.
My ideal Full (U.S.) Breakfast would include grits with gobs o butter, biscuits, (bigger or smaller than a cat's head), eggs, country ham, sausage, and home fries or hash browns with sausage gravy on em. And a bottle of Tabasco. Chicken fried steak -n- eggs ain't bad, cream gravy please for this boy. BYO Tabasco. These days tho, I've kinda got hot onto heuvos rancheros. Salsas incl.

My Grandfather had a lot of different jobs......farmer, greaser on a drag line, Greyhound Bus Driver but the one I remember was his last .....he was an assistant warden at a Road Camp in Tallahassee, Florida. This would have been late 50's early 60's and we practiced segregation back then and the Road Camp (another word for jail, prison, actual chain gang type work along the state roads) was for blacks. I would spend the night if my Grandfather was on call and we were going fishing next morning. (be on the water before the sun comes up) The white staff had their own dining area adjacent to the main dinning hall and the breakfast food was AMAZING....ham, link and patty sausage, eggs any way you wanted them, pork chops, steak, grits, fresh tomatoes, toast, potatoes, gravy, biscuits, pancakes.....it reminded me of family Thanksgiving meals. BUT........I realized later in life that the kitchen staff (all inmates) probably got to eat the leftovers......so they kept it coming.

Along those lines, my Dad was a sailor, and when his aircraft carrier (USS Randolph) was in port, and they had Family Day where you could bring your kids on board, I (being the oldest at 8 - 9 years old) went on board with him.
We'd go look around the ship, and go to his little bitty office with a manual typewriter and a mimeograph machine (he was a Yeoman CPO), and climb through hatches and companionways, and after about an hour of that, he'd assure me that I hadn't seen 1% of the ship yet .... and then we'd go to eat in the CPO's mess. Oh my gosh. Steaks for breakfast, lunch, and dinner cooked the way you asked, eggs done any way you want, fresh doughnuts, I couldn't believe how they ate and how good the food was. It probably wasn't like that on every Navy ship but on an aircraft carrier ...... !!

Tom...you hit the nail on the head...cathead that is.........we have Texas Pete hot sauce here in NC
I've literally used gallons of Texas Pete...we used to cut high card and the loser would down a jigger full....the Cuban Restaurant in West Jefferson, NC has a "red" sauce that actually makes me a little dizzy.....I love it.

I’m going to have to admit….never had beans for breakfast but I do love them…..toast too so I wouldn’t have a problem eating them in the morning.
But…….those mushrooms. Oh my, you’d had to have been around back then but I just have too many “not fond” memories that involve mushrooms. Still to this day they make me gag.
Other than those…….I could become a Full English Breakfast fan.
Oh……I forgot to mention that my Grandfather passed away at 63. The woman that cooked most of his meals made it to 85.
