Well lads, I've never claimed to know it all, and over this past weekend, I found something I'd not known before. It's a Jensen Interceptor III. Talking to the nice man who owns the car, I asked what motor was in it and was told Chrysler 440! Woo and indeed Hoo. Sounds like a scream to me. Here's the WIKI LINK , seems it's a member of the Grand Touring Class of motor vehicles. Of course I had the new camera on hand and got a few digi-pix... sadly however no shots of the interior were forthcoming, we were busting a move on outta there and so was Mr Jensen. But I did manage to snag a few pix whilst talking to dude just the same. Cool car, not sure how I've missed them all these years? Guess maybe I gotta get out more often. ![[Linked Image from ricochetridersmotomojo.zenfolio.com]](https://ricochetridersmotomojo.zenfolio.com/img/s/v-10/p1274537761-4.jpg) ![[Linked Image from ricochetridersmotomojo.zenfolio.com]](https://ricochetridersmotomojo.zenfolio.com/img/s/v-10/p1274538030-4.jpg) ![[Linked Image from ricochetridersmotomojo.zenfolio.com]](https://ricochetridersmotomojo.zenfolio.com/img/s/v-10/p1274537683-4.jpg) ![[Linked Image from ricochetridersmotomojo.zenfolio.com]](https://ricochetridersmotomojo.zenfolio.com/img/s/v-10/p1274538134-4.jpg) ![[Linked Image from ricochetridersmotomojo.zenfolio.com]](https://ricochetridersmotomojo.zenfolio.com/img/s/v-10/p1274537563-4.jpg)

.....It's a Jensen Interceptor III..... I badly lusted after/admired that car when I was a teen. The wrap around rear window was just so cool, and the bold front styling! Then I grew up and got a job working on exotics and after being paid to sort out a few Jensens, I wouldn't touch one with a ten foot pole. Just my opinion. Probably not worth much.

Cool till you had to try & clean one I worked at a car wash during high school ( along with other jobs ) and there were 5 of those buggers that came in regularly We eventually got the rep from the chemical company to come up with a cleaner that would get all of the plasticisers that evaporated from the interriour in out hot Aussie sun and stuck stronger than the proverbial poo on a blanket to the window that was near impossible to reach . Probably fine in the cold North with it's feeble rays of almost sunlight but a didaster down here is Oz

One of my brothers had one for a while back in the UK. It had about 8mm end float on the crank.. He was a dealer so it didn't matter much to him as he sold it quiet quickly.

Much lurve for Interceptors in the UK now, which reflects in the prices compared with a few years ago. American V8 and British styling takes some beating.

Beautiful car, from the days of beautiful cars.
Not the shapeless blobs called "SUVs" we have today.

You have to love the USA V-8 shoe-horned into the British cars back in the day by the OEM folks. Yea, plenty of talented guys doing the same, like a V8 in a bugeye...but just not the same.
Sadly, I passed on, not one, but two Sunbeam Tigers (289 cu/in) in 1977. One for $200 and the other $1000. A grand was a lot of dough back then, but it was almost perfect.

I'll put the Interceptor at the top of my list of desireable 2 door, 4 seater GT cars. Dark metallic emerald green, modern LS V8 motor, modern fuel injection and a modern 10 speed autobox please. Only dials on the dashboard, no screens. Also lots of toggle switches needed.

A local here used to have an Interceptor FF, which was the 4WD version (Ferguson system). I think only about 300 made.
1954 Norton Dominator 88 cafe - Yamaha wheels, Lyta tank ( project in progress) 1969 Triumph Bonneville Currently 6 other non-Brit machines. Past history includes 11 Brit and 13 non-Brit machines. Some impressive and some just silly.
