as I'm not famiiar with these bikes, having an A65 myself my question is:

the contactbreakershaft, is it the same construction as with the A65, driven of an intermediate pinion and CCW

I would like to know if the contactbreakershaft is running CW or CCW
regards Anne

The 10mm socket you lost a couple of years back????

It’s the cam w/ gear pressed on. You can just pull it out of the cases…..what’s behind it is a bush.

That pic was my reply to the op asking if the points ran of an intermediate gear as a65's do.

Appropriately enough I was attaching the shifter to make sure I had all gears after closing that up and I needed a 10 mm. (?)

The brand new shifter had a metric bolt!

Wish I found a socket under there instead of opening my thankfully no longer much used now, metric drawer

Gotcha......I took it as a question....sorry, my mistake. blush

I'm in the same boat as you.......I don't open the metric drawers much anymore.....thank goodness.

thanks for the picture because as the ccw-rotation was solved in the first answer
the second question is:

is the taper the same as for an A65?

regards Anne

I've a metric toolbox for the Alfa Romeo, Moto Morini and Moto Guzzi
and the other one to service the BSA

As the Vape electronic ignition kit seems to fit virtually all BSA and Triumph singles and twins I would guess the answer to "is the taper the same as for an A65?" is yes!
