.......somebody NEEDS these poor derelicts but not me Exactly my thinking. For a few dollars more you can get all three, including the Zundapp.

Good eye, Kurt! New Hampshire seems to be loaded with classic British goodies, unlike Vermont

Good eye, Kurt! New Hampshire seems to be loaded with classic British goodies, unlike Vermont Jon, that's because you have scooped all the vintage BBs in Vermont. I can picture these bikes in your garage, patiently waiting their turn for total restoration I wonder what the story was. Someone with the best of intentions who parked them in the lower level of the barn that flooded every spring, then through that someone's sickness or death, the projects languished, or something along those lines. Now someone else has brought them to light, and perhaps to a chance for renewed moto-life?

Interesting the discs on the front brake of the RE. These were very popular aftermarket items in UK "back in the day". They were supposed to prevent distortion of the front brake drum under heavy braking. They were known on the street as "bacon slicers"--- a bit akin to the large spinning blades on the counter of butchers shops in that era used for slicing bacon and ham. Now that you know that there is of course no excuse for not buying those wonderful bikes!

The cooling discs on the RE front wheel were standard fitment for that particular model , AKA Mk1A. Offered from late 1966 to 1968, about 900-1000 bikes were built. This example has suffered not just poor storage but also being disassembled years ago, so will take a lot of time and $$$.

I can picture these bikes in your garage, patiently waiting their turn for total restoration Kurt, Unfortunately, not even close, but I am always ready! Currently, I am out of room in the garage, but that wouldn't have stopped me from buying the Triumph 500. Sadly, someone beat me to it.
