I used to have three, now I have none. Is there a number on the switch that someone can use to cut new keys? Or will I have to buy a new switch with keys?
One that lived in the switch. One under the seat in a key box. One in the house. How do you lose all three? I hate getting old.

These will be FS series, I keep a selection at home, useful for finding odd locks. You can remove the barrel from the switch, there may be a number but likely not. I have obtained an FS blank and filed it until the pins are all flush, then replace it.

Hi Desco, The number was stamped on side of key for both ignition & steering locks. I've only had a few locks out. I didn't see any numbers on the barrel of locks. I bought my bike new. There is no record of key number on my sales or warranty papers.

A lock smith might be able to help you out, but it might be less costly to buy new assembly?? You'll have to take the lock assembly into them.

Keep searching...
Don

Six hours later, Ta da. Found the house set in the house. Looked through every pocket on every pair of pants and every coat I own. Cleaned the garage.
Still missing is the ignition and spare key in the box??? Now I need some blank keys. Any ideas?

P S also found a pair of glasses.

Found some blanks. I love the internet. ilco 62FS, That's what I've got and it works fine. Made in the USA. 1-9 keys 1.31 each. 10 and up gets way cheap.

BTW, they aren't particularly unique......
I have three sets of FS keys for 3 different bikes and some keys work on other bikes, but that bikes keys won't work in reverse.
From memory, my T140 key works on my T150, but my T150 won't work on the T140. My old T160 keys work on my T140 if I wiggle it.
If you have multiple bikes, try it you will be surprised.

when my Mrs. took my keys to our Van home with her from our business years ago, my brother tried the key for his pickup in my ignition, started my van, pulled out his key and I and he both drove to ourhomes. It's a wonderful world......

Cheers, Wilf

Hi desco, Now that you found your glasses, maybe you can see the other missing keys? Just kidding.

Without my glasses I’m in big trouble. Can’t see close really bad. Can’t see far either. I don’t like progressives for riding or shop work. I like my trifocals.
Lady at the optometrist office says progressives made me look younger…. I replied, seriously, “any young woman that would give me the look is a nut case. The old ladies my age don’t care so long as I can still drive at night”!

I have one of those red plastic springy things women wear on their wrists zip tied to my key. Now I don’t loose key.

So long as I can see the key hole & tickler button I’m good to go. Without my glasses I see neither!
Don

FS series keys not only on '60s Brit bikes, but cars too of that era. My MGB has FS keys, so they should be available in the States from Brit car dealers like Moss. As said, they're not very secure and once worn, the wrong key will fit the wrong lock (if that makes sense).

,, original key serves for the 4 drums the T140 have. The problem is when you need to change a drum, you need to add another key

Well the ignition key was easy. The fork lock key looks to be unattainable. I don't use the fork lock anyway.
