One of me chums owns a part of an ancient Wood, not too far away down in deepest darkest Kent. He invited me down to camp, along with his brother, so as I'd not been on Albert for a long while, I thought he'd be the perfick machine for the task in hand.... wink

Pulled out a fully freighted Albert out of the fettling shed, placed me size 11 on the kickstart and away we went, no wonder these wonderful machines were used in the War... grin

And so us three met up, and set off, the Sun fully in our eyeballs, no matter where we went, it's THAT time of year. The lanes were smothered in dead leaves mud and heaps of Chestnuts, along with horse road Apples. And with that Sun in your eyes it made for a hectic ride, but soon enough we made it to the wood. Where a dodgy ride along a mud filled lane commenced, last time I was on this track, I ended up under the FORTY INCHER and had a dislocated knee, what a fun time that was.... frown

But THIS time we made it to the camping spot safe and sound, with hardly any mud on Albert....

And the boy's bikes were clean as well....

Up with the canvas hovel then it was fire lighting time...

I brought along a spatchcocked Chicken that was caked in garlic butter and herbs, then chucked it on me open fire BBQ thingy....

A few beers later it was doing well....

A few more beers later, it was in our digestive system, and out came strips of pork for the afters....

A few more beers saw them join the chicken, then the beer came out and we relaxed around the fire....

A good night's kip and breakfast cooked on the fire, while the Sun tried cutting through the canopy above, rolled up the canvas hovel and off to a tiny museum of Kentish life for a mooch....

Just a tiny museum but very interesting all the same, and best of all not too far from this place....

Inside the Red Lion for a change....

Then just as we were about to leave this showed up....

And it had this on the side....

Just another weekend having fun in Kent, although I've a dreadful feeling Albert's big end is on it's way out, a slight hammering sound when he is under load is the clue.... frown

Looks like a Rotax engine so I'm guessing some variant of an MT350 military bike?

Looks like good times are to be had all over Kent!

Wow really good outing there! IIRC The Red Lion was where you took us in 2008 when we arrived at your house prior to the IOM International, making it the very first English Pub I ever visited!

EDIT: so oh yeah what’s that car anyway?
