Lots of BBs it seems for sale around New England these days, here's just one of them, a 1970 Triumph T100R. I always liked the T100R with the 1970 colors and paint scheme. Priced kinda high, tho, IMO ... . Located in Braintree MA, just south of Boston.

"Formerly restored 1970 Triumph Daytona. Needs some work. Cosmetically very nice, but engine could use some work. Hasn’t been kick started in a while. Gasoline is drained. Engine has little oil in it. Head was leaking oil. Once running, the bike is beautiful. It will take some money and/or expertise to get it running again."

The same bike posted on FB at $3750 --

Seller's Description:
"1970 Triumph Daytona T100R. Please message for details. 835 miles since older restoration "

Thanks, but ... no smile

With unknown running condition, I'd value that bike at $2500 max.

But, Richard, I have witnessed your bargaining prowess -- don't you need a 500 twin to complete your array?

But--- Kurt--- I have 8 already--- you have none.
So your need is obviously much greater than mine!

Ah. Didn't know you had any 500s.

A bike like this, I wouldn't even try to start it. With my last two projects, I took the approach of "I'll just get it running."

Bad idea. mad

So I would have it down to the crank. That's $$$$$ that I need to save for my old age.

The "restored" paint job on the front fender is wrong.
The stripe appears to be too wide, and the "restorer" ran the stripe OVER the rolled edge.
It should have ended by being "squared off" about one inch before it got to the rolled edge.

I wonder what else may be wrong?

Any problems are for the new owner I guess--- as it seems to have been sold.

Still posted on CraigsList, gone from FB. Won't be the first time that shiny paint has sold a bike.

Regardless of that screw-up, this is one of my absolute favorite color combinations/schemes that Triumph ever used!! Other than the paint stripe technicality, it looks like a well-done paint job.
