Was looking to buy some Well Seal Gasket Sealer but it seems that shipping the stuff is problematic. Has anyone had any luck acquiring it in the U.S.? If so, where is it available? Currently need it for Rocker Covers and Rocker Box. Would like to try it out but barring that what would be the next best choice? Thanks

Hello Hugh,
I went to Pegasus and tried to purchase and I received a notice that the seller does not ship to Illinois. Tried other places as well and received the same message. This is the reason for my question. Have you purchased it there previously?

It's where I got mine from.
I'm in FL.

Odd. Pegasus is in WI.
I just tried to buy and used an IL zip and it appeared it was going to work.

At what point does it balk?

As soon as I hit the "Buy it Now" button, I get the message.

I think that was going through ebay so I guess I'll try to go direct. Thanks, your reply helped much.
Going direct went just perfectly, thanks for the assistance Hugh.

There was some mention of it being hazardous so I think that was the issue as you said Kevin but wasn't a problem going direct. You certainly are correct also about it being expensive but I understand that it goes a long way so hopefully it will last a long time. I hope it works as advertised.

I have used Wellseal. It's not usually my first choice. Aviation permatex is similar but is a much darker color and is thicker. It will work well if your gasket surfaces are smooth and not scarred up. It is , at least in my opinion, good for sealing up BSA oil pumps. And it doesn't quickly dry out or harden up in the tube like RTV tends to do.

I quite like Wellseal in combination with a good quality gasket. I’ve gone through most of the gasket materials over the years and have returned to Wellseal (if it is ok for Rolls Royce….)
