First time teardown/assembly of Triumph crankcase and barely keeping my head above water. I have all the manuals, parts books and other related articles but not finding much on the drive side bearing and washer.
I am certain about the Timing side placement, not so certain about the Drive side.
Timing side - Gunn manual recommends chamfer facing the bearing (not facing the gear).

Now the Drive side - does this washer slide on the crank before installing the drive sprocket? The notch appears to fit the splines on the crankshaft.

It looks like it belongs here...where the spline steps up to the bearing inner diameter.

Thanks very much.

750? Yes, that's where it goes and there may be shims between it and the sprocket. The washer and shims are listed but not shown in the parts book.

yes to what eric said .
Go to the bottom of page 11 in the parts book .

the spacer , E12663
is listed ... ¿ but not shown ... in the exploded view illustration .

.. as are the thinner shim packs ... that may be needed
for proper front sprocket alignment ( to clutch sprocket )
part ... E8038 are 0.010 shims [Linked Image from i.ebayimg.com]
part ... E12660 are 0.030 shims

Excellent! Problem solved.
Also helpful to learn about the sprocket alignment, though that is a way off yet.
I see part number 21 "Distance Piece" for the rotor - I better try to find that - it must be here somewhere.

I should have stated that the engine is a '72 650 T120RV.
Thanks!
