I have two B44s that I have rebuilt the motors on, have good anti-wet sump balls and springs, and don't leak oil. On the other hand, one of my B50s leaks most of its oil out over 4 months (wet sumps) and one B50 that doesn't wet sump, but leaks oil out thru motor joints (head to cylinder, etc.) while running resulting in a continuous oil slick on the fins. Go figure!
I think the secret is that the motor have very little blow-by (check with a leak down tester) and a good clean new ball and spring on the anti-wet sump valve.
