Doing things my usual way. After checking the endplay and sealing up and bolting up the (69) b44 crankcases (actually while searching sir Ratio for a case torque spec not in the factory manual) I came across the breather mod.
I don't really want to take it back apart and drilling thru the case wall seems harsh. Is anyone just running one stock? Just as built? Or am I going to regret not modifying? The plan is a rider, 90% street not a race bike just a fun Sunday rider.

Yep, rebuilt and am running two, stock breathing and no issues. Though to be honest I am not sure how an "issue" would actually manifest itself .

I have two B44s that I have rebuilt the motors on, have good anti-wet sump balls and springs, and don't leak oil. On the other hand, one of my B50s leaks most of its oil out over 4 months (wet sumps) and one B50 that doesn't wet sump, but leaks oil out thru motor joints (head to cylinder, etc.) while running resulting in a continuous oil slick on the fins. Go figure!

I think the secret is that the motor have very little blow-by (check with a leak down tester) and a good clean new ball and spring on the anti-wet sump valve.

Life's uncertain - go fast now!
Anything worth doing is worth doing well. Steve said that. Anything worth doing well is worth teaching to others. I said that.
