Project 39-1/2 is coming along. I'm preparing to install the forks. The alloy lower sliders are polished. Looking for a finish for the alloy triple trees which are currently painted silver. I want to avoid paint as well as polishing (which is pricy) I'm wondering how it would look if I removed the silver paint and bead blasted them, followed by work with a soft wire brush. How would that finish hold up? Are there other options I haven't considered? Photo of upper tree only.
Thanks
Al

Silver powdercoat. Available in any number of finishes including "near chrome" and metalflake.

Make sure the bores, threads, and bar mount saddles are masked properly (hi-temp tape or plugs)

Thanks, GP, but no powdercoat. I went a little further with cleaning and removed the paint. Then ran the parts over a fine wire wheel. They look about right but how will they hold up and is there anything I can do to keep them this way?

I was just talking to a friend today and he said wax will help it keep its shine.
Thank you again GP!
