Check my previous (months?) post. There are better ones as I expect you know, mine have lasted a reasonable time, but certainly not “Lifetime”! If there is a warranty, I don’t plan to hold a vendor to it, I figure they are doing the best they can just stocking parts.

They were not Emgos. Don't know the brand as there was no label.

Such a hassle to change them out. Jack the bike up. Fender, bracket, stays off, brake cable disconnected, wheel off. The boot clamps are the biggest rhubarb.

For me I'd rather be building and riding than repairing. Since I'm retired, I don't have time...LOL

Perhaps the shroud rubbers are designed to fail when the fork oil need changed?

Mine were EMGO, I believe Gary’s were not confirmed. I have several unopened EMGOs I have used for packing when I sell parts!!!
Just got a reminder from a board member here that Rancho off road boots will last. He also provided dimensions I will post. Of course not perfect for the judged class I guess. I have them on a ‘93 BMW K1100, and they have been on well over 10yrs now. Did it to avoid salt air rust on the exposed tubes. BTW, Even though rubber is capable of stretching quite a lot, the bottoms of the boots are cut To fit over the BMW slider. So they are not that large as sold. The cut is facing the rear.

The ones on my 68 lightning I got from a US vendor, they have been on about 7-8 years(maybe more), and whilst they are suited best for the 69-70 triumph forks (the 68 type are a 1 year only and have a different inner band for the bottom retainer) they have been absolutly fine. I have since aquired some NOS ones correct for 68, though they won't be fitted till I either get a later A65 (and swap them over) or these ones fail.

Hey KC, love to see the details for the Rancho gaitors. Be good for my everyday rider. I'm with Gary, sick of pulling everything off the forks at least once a year.

Agree with Irish that maybe one source sold by suppliers.

I managed to find some NVT bagged ones in what I suspect is original NVT stock. They are still good, so must be 30+ yreas old? Also have some Triumph ones in a box that I bought in the late 90's that look like old stock. They are still good.

It can be done, just manufacturers choose to or are forced to use crap materials currently.

Do you recall the health / enviro movement squawking about the BPH in plastic drinking water bottles? It’s gone now. It was to maintain flex in plastic items. maybe it is also removed from the cheaper rubber products?
Naw….. that’s too complicated. The answer is just cheap crap materials are used to look OK in the bag and sell.
I do know the sponsor vendors here carry the long life boots if you call’em and ask the specific question. Compared to failing in the bag or shortly after installed, In this case I’d say you do get what you pay for. 🤓

Yep, like I said, they do stretch a lot to fit, but that BMW slider is very large so had to slit the back and clamp/zip-tie.
The off road folks love bizarre colors, but explore the site to see more.
