Looking for correct sizes of rims for my '61 Velo 500. Counted spokes- front is a 36 and the back is a 40 hole rim. Grove has 40 hole alloy rims, hoping to find a vendor stateside who has both.

i have v little experience with wheels, but 36 seems odd

I have Borrani's on mine that I bought 30 years ago at a swap meet. A word of caution. I bought inexpensive Chinese alloy rims off eBay to use on my little Wards. They were very inexpensive and worked fine. Emboldened I bought a set for my Parilla Wildcat. They looked good, but were dimensionally off so that you couldn't get tires on them.

The half width brake hub on a Velo uses a 36 hole rim. Just called Grove Classics and they can get both rims for me. Their cost for the rims are less than half what Buchanan charges. The shipping remains to be seen. These are made in the UK. I have Borranis on my Guzzi- $330 each from Buchanan plus shippiing

Wish you had. I would have bought some. The rims and spokes work out to be $250 each, checking shipping.
