Hi guys.
Last year I picked up a swet 66 BSA A65T. It's sat almost its whole life, and the kick start rubber is rotting away. I've glanced around only a little without luck so thought I'd ask for someone to point me towards a source for a new replacement?

A lot of stockists should have them; I usually try British Cycle Supply first. The correct one should be open on the end, and should have a cross-hatch pattern on it. I've found that the ones that are closed on the end tend to split at the flange in short order.

I've found that the ones that are closed on the end tend to split at the flange in short order. Same problem I have with closed-end shift rubbers. I use center-stand rubbers on those. I use rubber sold for CB750 on my kickers, they last forever.

I use a Yamaha kick start rubber on my A & B series
Off the DT model
Open ended, tight fit, doesn’t slip, quality rubber
Got it from a US flea bay vendor $7

NOS Kickstart. Has a loose-fitting metal tube in it so the rubber rotates easily when kicking. 1966+. What’s the end like on that Gary? Thinking if it has that tube, then it must be removable or something? The tube is smaller than the end so it does not come off. It is sliced long ways and is crimped in place so as to be loose on the kicker so that it rotates. The kicker, tube and rubber come as an assembled package when new. Also, there is a package, when new, 68-3315, that includes the 6 piece complete kick starter assembly, sans the cotter, washer, and nut.

The part no for the Yamaha kick starter rubber is 156-15618-01.
I have fitted the rubber to several A10's and they are very durable (and cheap).
