I've got two instuments that need to go out.
Thanks in advance

Nisonger (sp?) is still in business; my son had gauges rebuilt there within the last two years.

I've used Nisonger's in the past for magnetic gauges (Smith). They did mechanical AND cosmetic restoration. I just used Joel Levine for a pair of Veglias. He did a mechanical resto, but did not do anything cosmetically (paint, clean outside of bodies, etc...). I didn't explicitly ask for cosmetic restoration, but I was a bit surprised it wasn't done, considering the price. Veglias sit in a rubber binnacle anyways, so not that big a deal.
If you go with Joel, I'd consider explicitly asking for cosmetic restoration if that's part of what you're looking for.
Nisonger was a number of years ago, but it took about three weeks. Joel had my Veglias three weeks ago and turned them around in 4-5 days.

Haven't talked with him for a while but takes instruments, sends back and asks for payment after your satisfied. Had him do several sets for me. He usually says it will be several weeks and get them back in a week or 2. Prices are def better than previously mentioned repairers. Mark Bohman (513)367 6402

There is a fellow on eBay who goes by the id "aprivatepeace503" who does Smith's instrument restoration. He did a tach and speedo for me maybe ten years ago, and I was happy with the result. It looks like he's charging $149 per instrument now.

When is an instrument too far gone to fix? The OEM Smiths speedo sat for many years, out in the weather, with a broken glass. The numbers are faded and there is corrosion that I can see.

Vintage British Cables does a fantastic job. They just rebuilt a speedometer for me for my 69 441 Victor Special. Nisonger did great work also, but they are now out of business due to a flood that damaged or destroyed their parts inventory and most of their tools. They told me they are permanently done. A real shame as they did excellent work.
