The silvered reflector/glass lens unit on my '69 Firebird headlight is old (well, it would be) and somewhat corroded, stifling light output.

It's a 5-1/2" unit, not the 7" inch one commonly found on BSAs. As far as I can tell, this thing doesn't have a part number in my BSA Parts List, and so none of the online vendors can help me, since their searches ONLY work with BSA part numbers.

Anyone know where such a thing might be had?

Thanks!

Lannis

If it's the same one used on Triumph T100C, TR6C, and Cubs, how many do you want?

I have several NOS ones still in the boxes.

PM me.

Well, I thought pics would be on the way but I can't upload pics to a PM, it doesn't look like, so I'll attach them here and you can have a look. I've copied the lettering on the light to the PM.

LAB -

Thanks for that. I have the first parts book that Draganfly uses. I missed the 19-0738 part number. Unfortunately, it's "Out of Stock" at Draganfly.

The second one, with an 00-5145, I see only "European" and "France" types, nothing for the Firebird, unless I'm missing it again.

European and France types would be correct for USA (dip to the right)
Unless the French ones have yellow glass??

I think you will find the Lucas MCH66 headlamp reflectors or equivalents are in stock elsewhere, and probably nearer to home, however,...

...19-0738 like many other motorcycle reflector units of the time (including 7") were vertical dip* suitable for riding/driving on the left or right-hand side of the road, however, replacement reflector assemblies available now can also be left or right-hand dip, especially if they are not original BPF.

* Up to T160 and '76-77 T140 etc.

France had yellow headlamps and those reflector units with 411, p45t bulb I believe, dipped to the right...

My 68 parts book shows 19-738 as Lucas 516828.

Not sure of their reputation in Uk but they get parts to east coast US quicker than US vendors. Lol

Addendum: and saving a few bucks even with shipping and unfavorable exchange rate

Maybe Forum sponsor Peter Quick has one at BSA Unit Singles. Some of the singles have the small headlamp and Peter has lots of parts.

Thanks for the picture of your headlight lens.
The ones I have are a match to the picture, pilot light hole, and square Lucas logo as well.

If you want one, PM me again and we'll settle on a price and shipping cost.
