Gordon, you are gonna make me blush! I'm glad you like the bike, but it is coming apart yet again. Jumping out of third makes it a right pain on our mountain roads.

I'm sorry to hear you are ill. Hope you get over it quickly.

I had a great time, yet again. Windy does a super job Hosting us. Evelyne kept us well fed. Greg the Firebug kept us warm, and we got in some slightly quicker rides before Saturday! It's always a hoot to be around a bunch of like minded folks that we don't get to see enough.

Given the guest list for next year, everyone should make sure to keep that weekend open. It could very well be epic.

Covid can’t stop this boy’s LIKE finger.

I hope 🤞 I’m the only one to have picked it up. I try to be careful but I can think of a couple of things I probably slipped on this time around.

So far…..so good.

I just hope I didn’t bring it with me. Showed up around lunch Friday. Felt the first symptoms late Monday.

So far nothing crazy but yesterday afternoon I though I was going to collapse.

Ibuprofen, water and an understanding wife and I’m doing fine.

Fingers crossed for Richrd

fwiw...I had it back in the fall. Was really nothing more than a cold that lasted a few days. We had the J&J shot a few months before. Hope you all pull through OK in a short time.

Ata girl. She might have questionable taste in men….. but she’s not stupid. laughing

So far, like Mike G it’s pretty much a cold.

Early on I lost my next door neighbor. Late 40s in what she thought was good health. She thought she just had the flu. After a few days she wakes up in the middle of the night having trouble breathing. Rushed her to the hospital and she was gone two days later.

That was the first strain and pre vax.

Hope everyone’s okay. There’s still a few we haven’t heard from?????

PS….my wife tested negative last night but just tested positive. ( thank you for those free home tests). So add one more to the list. 🙁

Gordon-when I had it it was the same thing. Dragged out for a day or two then just a case of the blahs. I felt pretty dragged out Sunday and Monday myself, but I attribute that to copious amounts of alcohol and poor sleeping.

As I remember, we shook hands when you arrived. Maybe you didn't have it then?
I tested negative tonight after our text stream. I have two home tests left.
Good luck brother!

I never would have suspected that was your issue. Glad you got home safe.

Glad you didn’t get it David. I’m pretty sure I didn’t bring it with me but we’ll never know for sure. My PCP said by the time line it looks like I picked it up Friday. I stopped in Mountain City at Subway......on my way in.

Maybe I was the only one to hear when one of the attendees walked out of his RV and told us sitting under the canopy Friday that he just found out his wife had it. I didn’t think much about it at the time……..but my guess is that’s how it could have gotten into camp.

At least Windy has a GREAT excuse now for missing a turn and I’m going to blame my key confusion on it too. help

Still had a blast and it was good to see everyone again.

G

PS.....I'm up and drinking coffee, so that's a good sign. I'm waiting for my wife to get up to see how she feels......I'm going to be mad at myself if she has to deal with the same symptoms I did.

Could someone share the Gumby headlight story?????

As far as I know we still haven't heard from the Seltz clan, Jack Adams or Mr Tom Sanders. confused

At the beach earlier this year I heard two of the funniest campfire stories..........this time around Mr Tom holds the honor....maybe NOT the funniest but certainly one you won't wipe the memory away easily. laughing clap laughing

Yea......if you were there you get the pun.

Already making plans for next year......I might finally have to get off the ground so I have some work to do.

G

PS.......word of caution. DO NOT try to recount stories using fractured memories from 60 years ago.......damn smart phone will knock the legs right out from under you.

After I lost my front brake Gumby, Richard and I got it patched back together and headed down a road that quickly turned to dirt/gravel/washboarded turns. We got to the end and motored on into Mountain City. At the gas stop Gumby noticed that the only thing holding his headlight on the bike was the wires, the lamp was laying flat on the front fender shocked Neither of us saw it because we were always behind him. I guess those Birmingham wires must be pretty strong, as it probably bounced out on THE gravel many miles back.
