As of today......you can count me in. Not sure where I'll stay just yet, but I won't need a cabin if I decide to stay at the campground.

I'm in. We got a new camper, so if I can figure out how to haul the bike and camper, I'll be self sustaining!

Windy, we've decided to go "sans bride" (no Linda, Richard), so I will NOT be parking a trailer on yer lot. If anyone near or south of hartford al (fl 79 north 10 miles into al ) id gladly share my truck/ enclosed trailer the rest of the way to "Windyrock!" Any takers let me know! Cheers, Willie

I’ve come to realize that it’s just too much for me to do this event. I’ve sold my 2016 Triumph “America” cruiser because I’ll never be able to ride it the way it was designed. Shady Valley is just too far to drive, and too far to ride the 3 State. I still have my Scrambler and the Electro, which I plan on keeping for around here. Have to gracefully bow out. Y’all keep it goin, be safe, and enjoy! Hope to see y’all in Hiawassee!

Still the weekend after Mother’s Day, right?
If so, I’m in for a cabin….

Depending on the condition of my right hand/wrist (carpal tunnel) I might be on the breakdown truck. By the time we stopped last year I could barely grab my brake. I'll see how it holds up on Sunday's 100/100/100 ride.

David........I feel your pain brother. Following Windy isn't for the faint of heart or body. I had thought I might lead a slower group but the new route is........well, new to me and I don't have a good handle on it. I could get from A to B but maybe not the same way the chase truck would. So I'm going to just do the best I can to keep up which means........lunch might be over by the time I finally get there so I better pack my own! I also understand the situation Windy is in and wouldn't want to just go off on my own.......it is a GROUP ride even if I can't keep up. Either way it should be a good time with great folks. See ya in May. Gordon

gordon it will be a relaxed pace more like the one that was at the beach run. also NO ONE will be left behind as I will wait at every turn till the sweep tells me all is good,

I know you guys are keeping "us other guys" in mind. The beach run (at least the part I was on) was BLUE RIDGE PARKWAY slow, I can actually go a "little" faster when I'm feeling spunky. I'm looking forward to it. See ya in May.......Gordon PS......right now I plan on camping at your place. I don't think anyone noticed but I haven't mounted a rack on richrd's bike and no tool/spare box. Lean and mean . So I'll probably trailer over so I can haul my camping gear.

Windy..........I'm looking forward to returning as a rider. I understand (and agree) when richrd says "It's not about the ride" but I also know if you're the one who's responsible for the ride........it gets "about the ride" whether you like it or not.
It's impossible to keep everyone happy.......fast guys get bored going slow. Slow guys feel left out when they only see the other bikes at stops. Then there's new folks and you have no clue about their ability or lack of.
For 15 years I drove the chase. I remember one year out on 321 we were clipping along pretty good. I have two new guys.....youngsters on sport bikes in front of me. Son and friend of one of the regulars at the time. They were at the back of the pack and I figured they were there just to keep out of the way of the old farts. I'm staying back a safe distance but wasn't paying attention like I should and as we started into one of those long sweepers the last rider got on his brakes HARD........If I hadn't looked up in time I might have driven right over him. I get to the lunch stop and go over to him to see what happened. He was on some type of sport bike......600cc or larger??. He told me this was only the second time he'd ridden a motorcycle and he just panicked.
I know those roads. If I can't keep up, I know my way back to the campground. The LAST thing I want to do is ruin the ride for someone because I'm an old codger and the thought of you waiting at every turn for me to catch up..........hmmmmmm. I gota think about that.
Gordon

I remember tailgating some rice rockets on GA 60 headed to the BIBR. I was driving a '69 Karmann Ghia with a whopping 60HP engine.

Cabins are spoken for? Might have to rethink my method of travel. Mike - If it would make a difference in what you'd have to carry on a bike, I can bring down a big tent and whatever you need to go with it ..... We'll be there Thursday .... Lannis

Lannis I don't "think" I've ever seen Mike in a tent???????? Stranger things have happened. I'm trying to figure out what to do about sleeping arrangements. I'm not a fan of multiple trips across the snake so for me Mountain City is out. Probably tent but might convert the Matrix. See you guys and gals in May!!!!!! Gordon
