actually it wasn't any type of mc movie. it just had one chase scene. If that made it a motorcycle movie, then Coogans Bluff would rival On Any Sunday.

But he is right about not having the correct connector rods does throw the looks off.

Coogan's bluff definitely has a better chase scene. Neither movie was a "motorcycle movie".

The absurdity of clutch plates and con rods having anything to do with how the "original" movie bike looked, and how those large motorcycle parts could ever make their way inside a watch, are mind-numbing aspects of an overly-hyped over-priced watch.

I appreciate Steve McQueen's actual motorcycling talents, but since it was actually Bud Ekins that did the jump in the movie, attaching McQueen's name to the movie jump, and the bike, and the remotely-related internal engine parts, to this watch, is well beyond ridiculous.

For people with more money than brains.
Coming to think of it, I see a considerable and fast growing market.

I still have the faded black jeans I was wearing at the time. I really ought to sell them to Haynes or BVD, who could carefully remove each thread, one at a time, then thread them into the hem of a run of T-shirts, and probably get $348.95 per... They could also offer a run of underwear with a faded Triumph logo on the rear, and sew in a thread from those jeans, to highlight the fly flap. $250 for a pack of 3 (a week's supply without washing)

If there was ever a parallel to those watches, THIS would nail it squarely on the thumb.

By the way, my commemorative Steve McQueen faded Triumph logo t-shirt was a GIFT, I never would have bought it.

The first thing I did with it was un-sew the ridiculous commemorative write-up flap from the inside back. The sewing gave me a rash. Talk about a useless t-shirt right out of the wrapper...
