Richard, Our company is the largest distributor of custom calendars and made right here in the USA. Don't know much about your specific needs but would gladly offer you some pricing to see if it might work as calendars are a very nice and useful gift. As the owner, I will certainly sharpen my pencil for the group.

Wow, what a generous offer. I hope someone can take him up on this next year!, Maybe starting now is the time? (I'm great at volunteering others). I'll happily contribute pictures of a variety of Brit bikes...

I think we are in "Prime Time" for setting up an order of 2022 calendars. I value this group so much that I'm willing to put up $100 to get the gears rolling, and there doesn't even have to be one of my bikes included.

Let's DO IT!

“Let’s DO IT!” smile

Around here someone would ask “ Have you got a mouse in your pocket?”

(Let’s = Let US…… implying more than one person)

Ask Morgan for permission and if he agrees……go for it

Richrd got burned out…Barb died.

Someone needs to do the WORK. Printing is the easy part.

Collect photos from members. ( a lot harder than it sounds)

Pick the ones you want to use. ( some sites do it as a contest)

Have the printing done.

Take orders and money. ( have to keep up with the records/paperwork )

Mail out the finished product. ( not that hard if you kept up with the records/paperwork)

If it’s not a pre-sale then you have to figure out how many to print and not get stuck with a bunch of leftovers. ( pre sale or best guess. Most of the time there is a minimum order)

In the past any profits were donated to Morgan to help with the web site.

Pretty much a labor of love. Unfortunately one of those things throwing money at won’t get the job done.

Don’t even get me started on T-shirts. My last attempt had me 2-3 hundred into art/design and then some dealer shows up selling shirts on the site before I could get to print……pretty much took the wind out of my sails/sales. I’ll not make that mistake again.

Gordon in NC.

Barb started the calendars partly because she spent most of her adult life in printing and she loved Brit bikes and this site. Richrd kept them going. There was someone else helping but I don’t remember who. At some point Richrd decided there just wasn’t enough profit to justify the work. Bless him for doing it as long as he did.

“All” it’s going to take is for someone to step up and do the work (with Morgan’s permission). It should pay for itself but someone will have to invest their time to make it happen.

I had always thought ( but got shot down) that an actual “members” addition would be nice. I know some folks are private and wouldn’t want to be in it but some might…….you’d need 12. ( actually just 11, Morgan would be a given) I’d start asking top posters. You focus on a member per month. Little blurb about the member and some photos. It could be as simple as one photo or could be several. Member, bikes, shop……family????? I always though it was strange to see a photo on the calendar from someone who is a member but had never posted on the site………but that’s just me. I’ve also liked putting faces to screen names.

Here’s YOUR chance to step up????

PS…another site I’m associated with has a successful calendar sale every year. They start early and make a contest out of who’s bike will make the calendar with members voting. It takes several months to get that done. At this time of year the voting is over and they are running a pre sale. That way they only print what they need. I don’t think there’s a lot of profit to be made but the members enjoy a calendar they helped create.

Some ideas and an opportunity…….just need a warm willing body.

Lots of great info, Gordon.

Too much for me to undertake, so maybe I shouldn't have poked the bee hive...

I understand completely Paul. I was never involved other than giving away extras at an event in NC one year.

There was a time where Morgan was covering all the costs of the site and it made sense to try and raise money to help out. It was always Morgan’s plan to make the site self sufficient and my guess is…….he’s accomplished that.

T-shirts and calendars were our attempts to help. We never made a lot of money but hopefully it helped a little.

Maybe someone in the biz will step up and create and offer site calendars. Just won’t be me or you.

Take care…….winter is creeping into NC
