The ones on my 67 spitfire look domed to me!!!! Sematics????

Do you mean ‘semantics’? I’m maybe being pedantic, which could also be described as semantic but a dome to me has a round top. Not a flat top with rounded edges, which is a fillet, or chamfer. As long as you’re happy with what you have it doesn’t really matter what you call it.

I have domed nuts on the bottom yoke pinch bolts of my 66 Lightning, I believe in the USA they’re often called triple trees? I also have later 68 headlamp brackets and gaiters, as they don’t need the top clips. Not all strictly correct but I like it.

And also, nowadays here in the USA they're called "yolks".

Now I'm confused , I thought an acorn was a nut
