Back when I was 59 I'd booked an Enfield trip to Thailand, with the idea that my big Birthday would be spent with me and the Prospect riding around that country, seeing the sites, eating the food and simply enjoying life....

The Plague came to bugger that idea up, so we waited and waited, and finally the UK became slightly open for business, by now I had my own Enfield, so with the Prospect already owning one, we headed North. And THAT yarn has already been spun, BUT, and that's a big but y'all notice, this here photo got a hankering in us both....

[Linked Image from i.postimg.cc]

And THAT Hankering got answered on the very day I showed 61 on the year O'meter, so here goes....

Thursday night saw the Prospect showing up here, we fed and watered him then tucked him in for the night, next morn both bikes rolled out of the fettling shed, kick start buttons were pressed and off we set....

getting away from the Big Smoke (London) meant we could get petrol nice and easy, seems all the toilet roll and petrol panic buyers are only within a 50 mile radius of that very city. As I noticed that when we needed to fill the tanks, we could, so next thing was to fill our bellies. And we found a fantastic Full English on an industrial estate in the outskirts of Devon, BEST breakfast I've ever had in fact.... shocked

A few more miles and it was Beer O'clock, we did the usual *Tourist* thang by paying this place a visit....

[Linked Image from i.postimg.cc]

Where due to the lady being a robot type, it was a monumental task to order up two pints, something to do with the computer says NO or some such. Anyway after all that grief we FINALLY got a beer and washed the dust from our throats, then back on the bikes....

Arriving at our brick built tent, after around 300 or more miles, then after a shower it was down to the pub next door for a nice steak meal and a few beers, just perfick. Next day we had a mission, got to get that other photo and stickers. Or some sort of memento for completion of an End to End, but not the dead easy 1.5hr ride for us, oh no matey me ladio, I loves Cornwall me. SO we took the long way round, looking at stuff such as this along the way....

[Linked Image from i.postimg.cc]

Lovely little wiggly lanes with fantastic little villages, sorry dudes it just wasn't warm enough to hold a camera in me paw and shoot photos, y'all will just have to come over and see for yourself....

Everyone and their dog, thinks John O'Groats is the furthest place North in the UK, but its NOT, it's a place called Dunnet Head, which we paid a visit too on the way to John O'Groats, so we did the same for the furthest place South, that being the Lizard Point....

[Linked Image from i.postimg.cc]

Couldn't get the bikes near to that sign the place was heaving with Tourists, best we could do was to park near a tiny shop on the path....

[Linked Image from i.postimg.cc]

Once again some fantastic views....

[Linked Image from i.postimg.cc]

[Linked Image from i.postimg.cc]

Then a ride along to St Micheals Mount....

[Linked Image from i.postimg.cc]

We took the coast road along to Penzance then to the wonderful village of Mousehole....

[Linked Image from i.postimg.cc]

Then the time had come, off to Lands End along these sort of lanes....

[Linked Image from i.postimg.cc]

Completion of the task 4 months after setting off for Scotland, proof is in the photo....

[Linked Image from i.postimg.cc]

[Linked Image from i.postimg.cc]

And what else is there in Cornwall....? A Pasty naturally....

[Linked Image from i.postimg.cc]

So why didn't you get a photo at the finger board like you did in Scotland, I hear all y'all ask...? Well this here licensed bandit in the booth wanted us to PAY, sod that....

Although he did have a few people lining up to hand over cash, go figure...

All the while the Shyte Hawks were waiting, seeing what food was about, and if there were any targets they could bomb...

[Linked Image from i.postimg.cc]

Saw this as we were about to leave, most interesting seeing as the Hairy Mong has one....

[Linked Image from i.postimg.cc]

And so with sticker stuck....

[Linked Image from i.postimg.cc]

It was time to leave and have a nice ride back to that brick built tent and a slap up feast to celebrate, but first some true Cornish sites, namely disused Tin mines....

[Linked Image from i.postimg.cc]

[Linked Image from i.postimg.cc]

Wonderful beaches....

[Linked Image from i.postimg.cc]

[Linked Image from i.postimg.cc]

And sites to just make you stop and say, wow look at that....

A fine weekend was spent on great bikes, over 700 miles were covered, and if anyone was thinking of either a Himalayan or Interceptor we've got no complaints from ours. Make for fantastic touring bikes, light and nibble good on fuel consumption and are both CHEAP to buy....

Thank God that we've been there and done that, thanks to you, or I'd be tearing my hair out in frustration that I wouldn't be able to get there! Sounds like you've got a pair of modern Touring Bikes well in hand.

That IS one fine Full English there, I need to find a butcher shop here that will sell me a Black Pudding and proper Bacon, the rest of it I can get.

What, you didn't stop by the big hotel with the Rolls Royce dude and his Artiste buddy in the Winnie-the-Pooh outfit? Can't believe you passed that up!

As usual, a very fine and detailed report with very fine and detailed photos of very fine and detailed establishments, motorcycles, food, and natural scenery.

Well done and fun.

That's not what I heard at the time, I heard that you and Janette had been there last time you were in Cornwall, and stopped into the hotel for a coffee ... so this was at least twice. I suspect that you were hoping that the Winnie The Pooh dude would sell you one of his paintings, so that you could have the poshest parlor in Cook Close .... blush

Well that looks to be a lovely romp.
Reliving the memories of that lovely corner of The World is pretty darn great but BEING there can't be topped. Pix will more than suffice today but I hope to get back to Cornwall in the future.

Good times!

The ages-old debate still rages on in "certain" circles tho: is it KWAY or is it KEY? laughing

Cheers bro, thanks for posting!

Tom bro dude, it's neither, it's a Harbour.... wink

Sure was a great time we all had, and it's my favourite county, but for a truly spectacular motorcycle riding place. West coast of Scotland takes my vote every time.... thumbsup

And wasn't Lannis pleased with himself, when he thought he'd found a 'Cell Phone Box'.... facepalm
