Two weekends back, BLIMEY how time flies...!

I dragged out Cochise from the fettling shed, certain in the knowledge it was now a 2 kick starter, after spending the Plague times fettling, course once out in the fresh air that idea was pure non-sense. Just about to have my first heart attack kicking the bloody thing, the lovely Janette just opened up the garden gate and it fired right up. So without stopping I hit the road to the old Spitfire airstrip of Kenley airport. And the Indian Riders Rally, where as no one had been out for over a year, they made the Rally FREE, yes indeed FREE I tells ya. Didn't pay for camping or breakfast and the evening meals, and remember here dudes this was a Bank Holiday weekend....

So once at the Rally site it was up with the canvas hovel....



And over to have a chat with the Indian riders lot, and then a mooch....



Being a good club they let all sorts of bikes into their Rally, just don't be an R. Sole and you'll be fine....














Kenley is a famous WW11 air base where Spitfires and Hurricanes were based, and legend has it that a squadran of Hurricanes took off, and all but one returned, so as a memorial they have this on a pole, as that last plane forever coming back. It lit up when it got dark too, most impressive....










A night of fun followed with Beer drinking and singing in the bar to one of the lads picking his Guitar and a lad on a Uke, very good they were too, and after that a good night to one and all. And before I knew it breakfast was being cooked, so nose bag on and away me choppers went. Then we all saddled up and off out into the lanes, once again that bloody thing didn't want to start, until I was almost dead. I got one of the lads there to try, his said, yeah there's something wrong here...No Shyte Sherlock...! Well off out we did go and got to a lovely brewery just up the road from where I live....




Bikes all parked up we had a beer and some home made sausage rolls and lovely Cornish Pasties, made in Kent...








And when it was time to go, naturally that Bar Steward just wouldn't start, I was told that SOME were even feeling sorry for me at one stage, and that's NEVER happened before....

I wasn't the only one having trouble, this lad was having electrical problems...



And one other Chief had a coil go down, best of all I got a lad to have a look at me bike, he's coming up in a few weeks. I wager it's something in the carb, them buggers are a strange thing, not like a nice AMAL at all....

Anyway, we then had the Gymkhana, round and round the pole holding onto the plastic tape...








Then riding the bike through a gap with a pole over your head, while you balance a plastic doughnut on your noggin...






Until finally you ride around the cones and place a ball on top of four cones...




And like the last time, I came third, so a Bronze medal in the Indian Olympics....Well a Silly Hat and a book....




Then it was time for face filling once more....




More music and Ale in the bar and a wonderful night with wonderful people, next morning they had a run out to a custom bike show, BUT as that was also round the corner to my house, I took advantage and got the bike home after 20,000 kicks, chucked it in the fettling shed and dragged out the Enfield. Therefore that was the end of the photos, but not of the fantastic weekend, it's GREAT to be out with the lads again....

Looks like a great time was had by all, a good old-fashioned rally! Hope you get the starting sorted out, it's too frustrating to have to kick it that many times.

Compression OK? I'd do a leakdown test on the cylinders just to make sure.

Spark good and hot and on time? I'd upgrade bits on it until I had a blue spark like a little bolt of lightning jumping a .028" gap.

And then maybe start over on the carburetor. Have an Indian expert take it out of sight, take it apart, make everything right, float level, jets, an' all, and try again .... That's too nice a bike to be frustrated with! Not to mention being an investment .... !

Kev lad, I too would love a Falcone they're just like an M21 doff doff doffing along, wonderful bikes....

Lannis lad, I've done ALL of the above over the course of time, EXCEPT the Carb, yes I've had it apart and cleaned it out, but not knowing these Carb's I'm wondering if there's something I've missed, perhaps a blocked tube a hidden hole or jet, who knows...

Worry NOT lad, I knew once at the Rally there would be someone that would know these things, and HE contacted me t'other day, which he said he would once he wasn't busy. And he'll be taking the bike along with the Carb back to his place, so he can play with it to get it right. It's not a show pony, I want to ride it like my other bikes, the Indian lot have some fantastic Rallies coming up, they've got one in North Holland that I'd love to ride too. But keep trying to start the bloody thing at the moment is stopping me riding it around the corner, and THAT my lad is no good for man nor beast....

My little 2 year old girl stood at the window this morning with a confused look, as I spent 5 minutes kicking the [***] out of my TR6. I eventually rode off knackered and sweating. It's been a few months since its been out but it is usually a one or two kick bike, fresh set of plugs in this evening and a retry tomorrow.

I love the teepee for the Indian...

GrandPaul lad, the Teepee tent is just a coincidence, I've been trying to compact my camping gear down, and that is just perfick. It's a bunch of material and a pole that packs down so small it fits in the panniers of all my bikes. Forked out on a fantastic quality sleeping bag and airbed too, just in time for the Plague to hit...!

But I'm now all ready for adventures on any bike any where any time....

Looks like a fine time I must say... Keep up the good work ... No one entertains like the yarn spinner deluxe from Kent.. Do tell when Cochise is finally sorted out my friend

Shawn, you now have me to commiserate with regarding Springfield's finest. I have somehow managed to be entrusted with a fine 37 Scout to thrash on racetracks. It was with much hesitation that I accepted the challenge of what seems like rubbing your head and patting your belly but once that was figured out I had a blast! Spring seat, twisty frame, hopping tires, no suspension back and only a tiny amount front. It kind of moves your level of trust to another galaxy. Ride on!

I LOVE riding my Injun, and I think all bikes should be fitted with a foot clutch, makes taking them riding photos SO much easier...

It's just that darn starting issue I have, although a couple of chums can start their bikes, after the starting procedure, FIRST kick each and every time, so I know it can be achieved, and that's what I'm aiming for....

Ah the pictures. At risk of sounding whiney, posting pictures here is painful. I'll see if I can wrap my head around it.
I cannot believe your issue is all that complicated. There has to be something that is worn or misadjusted somewhere. I'm sure there will be an ah-ha moment and all will be as it should.

Try thinking outside the box. A starting issue on one of my bikes ended up getting remedied by installing a center stand,

Lovely Bryan lad, but what's with the extra fuel tank on the carrier...? Perhaps he does the Iron Butt thing, OR, he also has troubles starting and don't want to muck about getting petrol....

Not too sure about the carrier/tank thing.
It did start at second swing so it might be that the tank is crapped up internally or something. Did not have much chance to talk with the young fella who'd inherited it from his dad.
